We had so much fun on this wine tour, recommended to us by a work colleague from Cagliari. Our guide Franco spoke excellent English, collected us from our hotel and showed us a great time. This really is a beautiful island. The wine was delicious as were the local accompanying cheeses, salami and bread. Bought three bottles to take home with us! Enjoyed meeting Giuseppe and being shown around his wine estate, he was a fantastic host. Would definitely recommend this tour!

If you decide to visit Sardinia you must see at least the Nuraghe, the construction symbol of a very ancient and fascinating civilization and a land. The Nuragic civilization was one of the most important in the Mediterranean and beyond. While our team will explain you everything that you need to know about it, all you have to do is enjoy the thrill of a real journey through time through the fascinating and powerful Nuragic civilization.

This was a fantastic way to see different beaches from Cagliari. The guides were knowledgeable and friendly. We went to beaches that were not windy and suitable for the day’s conditions. I’ve booked another tour with them because I enjoyed myself so much. It wouldn’t have been possible without my own car or arrangements. Highly recommend!

A brilliant experience and one of the highlights of our trip! Thank you to Isabella, Valerio, Rosanna and the rest of the family for hosting us in your beautiful home - We truly felt welcomed as friends. We had so much fun learning about Sardinian culture and making traditional culurgiones and malloreddus. We enjoyed coffee, breads, cold cuts and cheeses with honey, and our pasta with wine and profiteroles for dessert. We couldn't have asked for a more authentic experience. We also followed Isabella and Valerio's recommendations for Osteria Kobuta and Baccu Cardu, which were amazing. Highly, highly recommend! (We'd love to come again!)
Visiting Barumini and its territory means to discover a world rich in history and tradition. From the first moments in which you approach this small village of Marmilla, located in the heart of Sardinia, you can breathe a particular atmosphere. That one of a particular place deputed since the Old Age at the seat of power and central part of a fertile land full of marvels and fundamental way of communication. A beautiful place that now since 1997 has been enrolled in Unesco World Heritage Lists because of its uniqueness. On the Giara, there is an essential variety of animal species. Forests of cork and oak alternate with Mediterranean maquis, garrigues, prairies, and ponds to make this plateau an abundant fauna shelter, in which the most famous specimen is the Giara horse. It's also possible to have lunch; you will taste the specialties of the Sardinian typical products, based on the seasons, thanks to the gastronomic culture of the ancient land of the "Nuraghi."

My husband and I were searching the internet for a small group tour specifically covering the Puglia region of Italy when we came across Secret Italia Tours. Their Puglia/Basilicata itinerary fit the bill perfectly but we were at first hesitant to book the trip because Secret Italia was very small compared to the bigger and more well-known tour companies out there. After reading reviews and speaking personally with Aldo by phone several times, not only did we book the Puglia tour, Aldo also worked with us to put together a private four day add-on tour of the Amalfi coast. We can honestly say it was one of the most wonderful travel experiences we have ever had! Hotels: All accommodations were in small boutique hotels located in or very close to the city center. Each one was unique and offered many amenities like free WiFi (though one hotel had very weak WiFi in rooms but delivered a strong signal in common areas), a breakfast buffet each morning, and air conditioning (real a/c, not like the pitiful a/c found in most Italian hotels). Included meals: In addition to breakfast, included meals each day, either a lunch or a dinner, highlighted the specialties of the region and left us all quite full and very happy! From the olives, cheeses and Salumi, to the grilled vegetables, fresh pastas and seafood, pizza, taralli, and luscious desserts, we were simply in food heaven! Tours: While we stayed in four different cities, we also visited many small towns along the way with ample free time for exploring. There were also wine tastings, an olive oil tasting, a hands-on bread-making experience, Sunday dinner at a family-run working farm, and a cheese making demonstration, among other things, which were all informative and fun. Tour Guide: Our trip was made even more enjoyable by Paola, our guide. Not only was she very well-organized, professional, knowledgeable, warm and friendly, she also had a wonderful sense of humor. Truly a delight to be with! All other elements of the trip like transfers to/from airport or train station, luggage handling, bus transport throughout the tour, communications regarding payments, final itinerary and other pertinent info, were all excellent. During our separate personalized Amalfi tour, the outstanding service continued with great drivers and tour guides as we visited Amalfi, Ravello, Positano, Sorrento and Pompei. Aldo checked in with us daily to make sure everything was perfect! We just made a deposit for another tour with Secret Italia this coming September— next stop Provence! If you’re thinking about using Secret Italia Tours for your next vacation, don’t hesitate another moment. You will NOT be disappointed!
