The 5 Best Cultural Tours in Blue Mountains, New South Wales

March 27, 2022 Joeann Galban

The Blue Mountains are named for the delicate azure haze that lingers along the region, which is actually a fine cloud of oil emitted by eucalyptus trees. The mystical mountains are a labyrinth of plateaus, gorges and gum trees. Check out the Katoomba Scenic Railway (the steepest railway in the world), the Jenolan Caves and the Giant Staircase nature walk.

We thoroughly enjoyed this indepth look at this beautiful city. Our guide, Danny, was so very knowledgeable and accomodating. The van was clean and air conditioned and equipped with a speaker system, so we were very comfortable. I highly recommend this tour at the beginning of a Sydney visit to gain a good perspective of the city.

My husband and I did the tour on Sunday 28th March 2021. Everything about the day was fantastic. Our tour guide Kat was extremely knowledgeable and took us to some beautiful lookouts which we definitely wouldn't have seen had we gone on our own. Scenic World was amazing, especially the steep train! We were surprised that we were taken to Featherdale Wildlife Park as part of the package, we loved it there and we had our photo taken patting a koala, an amazing experience. We also had a delicious lunch at Grandview Hotel in Wentworth Falls. Thank you Kat for an amazing day!!
