The Dead Parrot Society

The Dead Parrot Society is an exciting new comedy night in Teddington run by promoter Maggie Tibble and MC'd by Viv Groskop ("my favourite new act" -- Lucy Porter). The very best new stand-ups from the London circuit, plus some surprise faces from the telly. We're twice monthly, upstairs at The Anglers, 3 Broom Road, Teddington. Recent acts: Sara Pascoe, Lucy Porter, Milton Jones.

Orange Tree Theatre

The Orange Tree Theatre is an award-winning theatre based in Richmond, and a registered charity. It produces new and rediscovered plays in its unique, 180-seat in-the-round space, and tours to venues across the country, serving an audience of 75,000 people a year.

We have visited the Orange Tree Theatre in Richmond (London) several times, and each time has been enjoyable and good value. The Audience sits around the sides of the square stage in two tiers, stage level and a level above that, each a double row of seating. In all about ten seats per row per level per side, so it is a very intimate gathering. One corner is the audience entrance/exit and the other three can be used for actor entrances/exits on the stage level. Prices are very reasonable and many of the productions are new presentations of contemporary or classical plays. Pre-play and interval there is a small bar. An excellent alternative to the hustle and bustle of central London theater-land.
