We were in Frascati with a group of friends on a day trip out of Rome and after climbing the steps from the train station up to the town we eventually found our way to the main town square where this beautiful cathedral is. The facade is so beautiful and inside we met Father Mark who told us a little of the history of the cathedral which dates back to 1598 although the impressive front wasn't added until much later. He akso told us that from the altar looking forward through the front door it was possible to see the dome of St. Peter's in Rome in the distance and thus connect the two St. Peter's. I was also interested to see a statute of St. Rita at the front of the church along with St. Anthony and have since researched St. Rita which I didn't know about.
