This amazing place was full of fun and great people! My family and I stayed for 9 nights all in one beach fale. We loved the location and the people who ran the place were so friendly and kind. Dinner and breakfast were good but just a reminder there is no lunch in the fare. But there is an cool little beach bar that Nugg runs who does surfing and snorkelling tours and can do lunch for you such as Pizza and Burgers which are really good! Snorkeling is not the best on the beach as the water is no quite clear enough but lovely and warm to float and swim around in. The place has lots of bushes and trees everywhere and there is an incredible cave with a pool at the end that you can go through with the owner's son for 20 Tala for two people. We all recommend staying at these beach fales if you are definitely on a cheap budget!

Traditionally built Samoan beach fales on a white sandy beach. Beautiful spot for snorkelling in crystal clear water and watching a stunning sunrise in the morning. Together with honestly open-hearted hospitality and locally produced fresh food, there is no doubt in indulging in a pure pleasure and unforgettable experience.
We stayed at these Lauiula Beach Fales for our first 4 days on the island & absolutely loved them. Richard, Mafra and family were so friendly, helpful and accommodating. Nothing was ever too much trouble. The weather for our time there unfortunately was not on our side, however it did not take away how beautiful this beach was. The fales were clean and comfortable, food was plentiful and it felt amazing to step out of your room onto the beach. Would highly recommend :)

Our eco-resort is located in the pristine environment of an inland rainforest, without pollution or industrialization. Surrounded by nothing but lush vegetation, stunning wildlife, birdlife, and three clean rivers, guests can truly escape.
Love this hidden gem with a beautiful private waterfall at the end of an off the beaten track road. Ate fresh river prawns in freshly squeezed coconut cream sauce with taro pulled fresh from the farm also in freshly squeezed coconut cream... Interesting German historic links ... there's a pizza oven and a few basic cabins to sleep in of you can get a booking ... a unique experience that you can't find anywhere else in samoa

My partner and I stayed in the Tailua Fales at the beginning of October of this year and came away agreeing they were our favourite. The two women who run the fales and cooked our food were so hospitable and really treat you like a family member. You never go hungry! The food was also the best we had eaten. It was all fresh and absolutely delicious. The fales were very clean and spacious. They had a good light, mosquito net and plug socket. Our bed was a tiny bit uncomfy but not enough to complain about. I really wish I had another trip planned to come back :( P.s. Go to the petrol station across the road and get some banana ice-cream. It's unreal. Thank you Tailua Fales!!

I was told this place was quiet and would be ideal for a student like myself. There are other homes in the area that blast the same rock songs all day long- sometimes late into the evening! Towards the end of my stay, I had to ask for clean linens and was told that his wife had been "very busy" the last few days- (Um. Excuse me, but I PAID in full for this and now I have to wait until when???) The place is infested with termites, ants, and roaches. I spent a couple nights in other places to see if I could change accomodations and those places were just as open and airy but without all the nasty bugs. The mattresses are also infested with bedbugs....doesn't make for pleasant sleeping! I was also told that I would have access to the wi-fi. When I got there, it was not wi-fi and I had to pay dearly to use fiafianet which crashes more than it stays up. NOT a good feature for submitting reports back to the university!!!!!!!!!! I felt as if I were being nickle and dimed the whole time I was there. Oh, and the hike up to the bungalow??? Killer views if you can survive the hike! Be prepared to hike up your own water unless you are willing to once again pay for water to be brought to you. (I was not told this, either...) The fridge is nowhere large enough to stash food to last a few days unless you enjoy hauling it up that hill. If you want to rent a car, do it yourself and not through Mats who then pads the bottom line for "all his work". The rental car place will not deliver a car up there anyway because the road is very very very bad!!!!!! You will get sucked into a bait and switch deal if you use the rental company Mats suggests. Trust me on this one- I ended up walking all 3 weeks I was there.
