Carara National Park is no where near as busy as Manuel Antonio Park. The parking was free and plentiful. The cost is $10 US per person which gets you a full day to walk the trails. You are still near the beach so it is hot. Bug spray, a long sleeve shirt and long pants are a must. A good pair of hiking boots is a good idea as there is a lot of trail to walk. I recommend going with a guide who are stationed near the ticket office. We went with Jairo Sanches, who is an acredited guide with the government. He has a great deal
