A beautiful and peaceful place to show respect for those who have fought for our freedoms. Always a somber and sad moment to see families at the graveside of a loved one. Definitely a time to pray not only for our soldiers but for the family members who also pay the ultimate sacrifice with the loss. Prayers for all military and their families.

From Indian Wars to the Civil War to today's VA Hospital, Ft. Meade in SD continues to maintain a valid military presence through history and still today. We learned so much during our visit to the Museum and are so glad we made this stop. We also visited the Ft. Meade Cemetery which reminded us of a small-sized Arlington. Amazing to see grave sites from the Indian Wars and those who served in the Calvary Armies.

Established in 2001, the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum & Hall of Fame is home to an ever-growing variety of motorcycles dating back to 1907. On display are a huge selection of American and metric bikes along with a wide variety of exhibits, photographs, memorabilia and Sturgis Motorcycle Rally history. A gift shop offers a wide variety of items ranging from motorcycle patches to fine jewelry and books.
Priceless collection. Amazingly laid out on two floors. Ample parking lot parking and street parking. Gift shop and rest rooms available. Would absolutely recommend to Harley, Honda, Indian, etc. owners. Every brand was represented.

In 2015, over one million bikers descend on the small town of Sturgis, South Dakota for the 75th anniversary of the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally – one of the largest events for motorcycle enthusiasts in the USA. For one week each August, this town becomes home to hundreds of thousands of bikers as they enjoy motocross events, drag races and scenic rides through the nearby Black Hills, or to Dakota landmarks like the Badlands or Mount Rushmore. Be warned: accommodation prices predictably skyrocket at this time of year (camping is popular) and the crowd can get a bit rowdy. But isn't that part of the fun?
I have always wondered just what this would be like. I am not a biker myself, but intrigued at something that draws that size of a crowd. We were headed to South Dakota to see Rushmore and things (didn't realize it was bike week when booked) and discovered we would be there during this time. We decided to stop by and check it out. Take a few pictures and soak in the environment. WOW is all I can say. Never did I see so many motorcycles in one place. They were everywhere. I suggest visiting Sturgis during the rally as a bucket list item. 100% worth the trip. Talked to some really cool bikers a s well. All we encountered were very friendly people. A must do.
