The Rosedale Manor Bed and Breakfast Inn is a beautiful waterfront heritage home in the historical coastal town of Placentia, Newfoundland. Your hosts Linda and Philip also own Philip's Cafe on the waterfront, a few minutes from Rosedale where Philip (a pastry chef) provides you with a choice of gourmet breakfasts at your leisure. Walking distance to Cafe and local pub. Hikes along the waterfront and up to Castle Hill Historic Site. 1 1/2 hours to St. John's and 1 hour to Cape St. Mary's Ecological Reserve.
We stayed one night in the room with two beds and shower in the hallway. The room was rather small but also very reasonably priced. The hostess, Linda, was extremely helpful and kind. Good homemade cookies available next to the coffee machine (which was a bit slow to operate). We were given extra duvets to help us through the cold night. A tasty breakfast at Philips cosy Restaurant was included.

Newly renovated 8 room hotel. Exceptionally clean spacious rooms are equipped with wireless internet, cable TV, telephone service and air conditioning and boast a beautiful view. Minutes from all amenities. Restaurant offers all day breakfast.
Easy to find, conveniently located for our journey, the staff were all welcoming and helpful. The room was a good size, clean and well appointed (great pillows!), and felt freshly decorated. Continental breakfast was included in our reservation and provided a good range of items to choose from, in a bright and very relaxed breakfast room. Their website is undergoing updating and I hope it will lead to more visitors for them.

It was an excellent Bed and breakfast. comfortable beds clean bathrooms as well as a great breakfast. I would highly recommend this place. It would be beautiful in summer time sitting on the deck. Very lovely indeed.

We stayed here for a night as other options were booked. A property is best reviewed in the context of what it is. This is a 2-star B&B/Guesthouse and that is what it delivers. The property has 8 rooms of which 5 or 6 appeared to be occupied by residents working at the large nearby ore processing plant construction site. The rooms are very basic but do have a fridge. Our room was missing the light bulbs from the lamps for some reason. The bed was firm but not too bad. The ensuite was clean and functional. There is free WiFi in the building. The host (Mary) was helpful. There is a common area at the back of the building containing a kitchen, TV lounge, and deck. Raw material was provided for breakfast (eggs, bread, juice, cereal, etc) but you needed to make that yourself. The evening was quiet, but the other guests were up early to go to work. They were very noisy in the kitchen area and hallway while getting ready to leave. As a 2-star guesthouse, this property is fine. As a B&B for vacationing tourists, it doesn’t really work well. The other B&Bs in the area are a bit more expensive, but you may find them more suitable for a vacation stay at the current time. After the construction project finishes, the character of the place may change back to more of a B&B vibe. The B&B is priced lower than other properties in the area, so if price is the major factor in your choice it might be worth a look.

The rooms and bathrooms were very large and were clean and tidy. There were not baths in all the rooms. Downstairs were a snooker table, ping pong table, dartboard and pinball machine for the guests to use free. The host was slightly odd, but very friendly. The breakfast was slightly disappointing - only eggs and streaky bacon.
