The Blue Heron Guest House is a renovated work shop built at the turn of the twentieth century when Arizona’s copper boom was still in its heyday. The owners of the main house on the property maintained the workshop’s rustic exterior while fully renovating the interior to provide a charming, cozy hideaway in historic Clarkdale, Arizona, nestled between Mingus Mountain's Jerome and the red rocks of Sedona.
I went with Blue Heron based on its uniqueness and location for a hop around trip to Jerome, Cornville, Sedona, Cottonwood and of course Clarkdale!! Super cozy, it's all you need. Super clean - and I'm picky!! Beautifully decorated while rustic at the same time. Love that it was a former workshop for the copper boom. Owners were great!! Very responsive with great recommendations for local eats. Highly recommend and would go back..

The 4 nights we spent at Mescal Canyon Resort was a completely relaxing! Our room was perfect, we were able to cook dinner in the Canyon Studio and even took advantage of the fresh veggies in the garden! Took a hike up the mountain above the vineyard as well as into the canyon and both were equally enjoyable. Shell gave us lots of great tips and provided wonderfully delicious gluten free baked goods each morning. We even took advantage of the gourmet breakfast option our last morning before we checked out and it was amazing! My favorite was enjoying the chemical free hot tub with the full moon and only the sounds of the birds around us... the humming birds in the morning on the Canyon Studio porch were also delightful. We definitely want to come back the first chance we get!

Private estate with million dollar views. You have to see it to believe it. A perfect place to just sit and relax, or explore the area. Close to Jerome, Clarkdale, Cottonwood, and Sedona. A peaceful mountain top getaway. We have 4 rooms available, 2 king bedrooms, 1 studio apartment and a 2 bedroom suite. They all have the same amazing views. We are less than 10 minutes to downtown Cottonwood, yet you can enjoy viewing the wildlife on the property (deer, coyote, rabbit, havalina, bobcats, etc.).
My husband and I spent two nights in the studio. The room was quite large with a king size bed, a dining table, and a kitchen area. The refrigerator was well stocked with breakfast items such as eggs, pancakes, butter, jelly, bagels, cream cheese, etc... Jerry also had snack items like sodas, water, cheese, and crackers. The bathroom even had a heated towel holder. Loved the fresh roses on the table when we arrived! The views from the room were incredible! Jerry gave us helpful suggestions on things to do in the area and recommendations for eating out. We wish we could have stayed longer!

Originally built as a rooming house for mining employees in 1914, the Clarkdale Lodge is being carefully restored into lovely rooms and suites. Each one is tastefully furnished, with king beds, quality bed linens, private bathrooms, and flat screen televisions. The suites feature full kitchens, and living/dining areas separate from the private bedroom. Our view deck overlooks the Verde Canyon railroad depot, and is very popular with our guests. Many of the rooms and suites have beautiful views of Jerome, Sedona's redrocks, or the Clarkdale Park, just across the street.
If you like bait and switch reservations and less than honest hotel managers, stay here! We made a reservation to stay here for October, 2022. (That’s 5 months out) We booked several rooms for a two night stay. We then received an email, shortly afterwards, without explanation, that the hotel owner cancelled a few of our rooms. We called him and he used a flimsy excuse he was holding out rooms for longer staying guests. We tried to rebook individually and the system accepted our reservation and took our money. The next day, we received a message that the room we booked was already booked via another website, and again he cancelled it. BTW- there is no other website to reserve rooms, so he’s also a less than honest person to deal with. Went back into the website later and the room was yet again available. So if you’re looking for confirmation to stay in Clarkdale, don’t book here. You won’t know if you’re going to get a room and God forbid you try to stay there needing multiple rooms because the owner apparently picks and chooses what rooms he “wants” to reserve and there is no indication before you reserve what he’s going to do. In addition, not sure why he’s so picky. There’s not much around town to do and little to no amenities. We just thought it was a big enough hotel to allow a large group of people to add commerce to the town that clearly looks like they could use it.

Park Hotel is located in the heart of wine country in a historic 1915 building that has undergone an amazing revitalization. All seven rooms are on a second story level, and display beautiful views of Mingus Mountain and Town Park right across the street. Other nearby attractions within walking distance include the Verde Canyon Railroad, Clarkdale Kayak Company, and the AZ Copper Museum.
A classy hotel with a fun brewery downstairs. We took the Verde train trip and stayed the night at the Park Hotel. Live music and brews combined with great rib dinner from across the street. Everything exceeded expectations!
