BalletX, Philadelphia's Premier Contemporary Ballet, unites distinguished choreographers with an outstanding company of world-class dancers to forge new works of athleticism, emotion, and grace. With three performances each season as the Resident Dance Company of The Wilma Theater, BalletX produces original choreography that expands the vocabulary of classical dance for all audiences.
I love Ballet X because it incorporates classical ballet with modern dance. The company has great energy. The dancers are so connected with each other. We have been subscribers for many years and are always delighted with each performance.

Home of the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Pennsylvania Ballet and the Philly Pops.
This is such a beautiful venue! Located on Broad Street in the heart of Center City with plenty of parking available in the area. The staff was friendly and helpful. There is an elevator if needed. Comfortable seating and refreshments are available.

In 2011, Mercyhurst University announced the formation of the Institute for Arts & Culture, which oversees the arts programming accomplished by the Mary D'Angelo Performing Arts Center and other venues on campus. The Institute manages the planning and execution of artistic and cultural events on campus in coordination with faculty and students. Overarching to these activities is the desire to develop future patrons of the arts among Mercyhurst students and the greater Erie community through new initiatives and cross collaborations. The $3.6 million Mary D'Angelo Performing Arts Center was dedicated on April 20, 1996, to George and Mary D'Angelo, two of Mercyhurst's biggest benefactors and advocates of the arts. The venue has hosted more than 100 famous musicians, dancers, puppeteers, choirs and performance artists. It is nicknamed the "Miniature Met of Erie." Its famous chandeliers are designed to match the chandeliers in The Metropolitan Opera. They were made in Austria from pure crystal.
FABULOUS performance by these talented people from many countries---Switzerland, Spain, Cuba, Columbia, Chili, Japan, China and the USA. There were three acts, Swan Lake, Pas De Deux and Valpurgeyeva Noch. The music was beautiful, the costumes excellent. This was hysterical and so entertaining. I hope they return to Erie. We would definitely go back!
