You could spend your whole Chiang Mai vacation exploring the famous Night Bazaar. Once you’ve exhausted the art of the cheerful haggle, however, there’s plenty more to explore. The National Museum and Botanic Garden are great places to soak up some local culture and to breathe in the delicate fragrance of Thai orchids. In the city’s center, the remains of ancient walls embrace over 30 temples. Limber travelers can climb 300 stairs to Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep, an ornate Buddhist temple in the hills.

Gernot Huber, founder of Yoga Mind Yoga Body, specializes in yoga retreats and in private yoga instruction tailored to your particular needs. Gernot can come to your location, or teach you at Chiang Mai Holistic in the Nimman area, or at M Studio south of the old city. Gernot has developed an integrated approach to yoga that incorporates insights from Iyengar, Ashtanga, Anusara, Forrest, and Kripalu yoga, from yogic and Buddhist philosophy, and from anatomy, physiology, and neuroscience. He skillfully integrates down-to-earth discussions of breath, alignment, anatomy, and awareness to convey the key concepts of yogic philosophy with clarity and humor to practitioners of all levels. Gernot helps his students maximize the benefits of their practice by emphasizing the mental dimensions of yoga as well as the physical, and the intricate connections between both. His dedication to tailoring his teaching to each student's needs have consistently garnered him high praise from his students.
I've looked forward to taking classes from Gernot over the past two years whenever I'm in Chiang Mai. His knowledge of anatomy and biological reasons behind certain yoga positions and practices is very appealing to anyone who has a science background. There is a spiritual side to be sure, but I have never know any other yoga teacher with this unique perspective. I was very pleased to learn Gernot is offering online yoga classes during the pandemic, and I would urge any yogi to try his classes. Thank you Gernot for putting your class online!

A registered holistic and alternative health, healing and education centre in the heart of Chiang Mai Thailand, focusing on holistic education Qigong, Tai Chi, Yoga and Reiki for personal growth, relaxation, health and healing for our students and clients.
I took the Body and Mind Healing course in Reiki and QiGong and both were amazing physically and emotionally. Rod is the best teacher I have ever worked with. He has no ego and his humility makes learning from him completely accepting. NO matter where you are physically or emotionally, you are welcome. Body and mind positive focus. I was insecure about my fitness level and it made zero difference for the practice. Rod has so much experience and confidence that is based on happiness and good feelings, not torture yourself for results. I loved the space he holds his classes in, there is a sense of calm and peaceful energy. The practices I learned in 2 weeks will change the rest of my life. I wouldn't go to another teacher for anything. He is the best. He even uses humor, which is so appreciated in a time when there is so much challenge in the world. There is a herbal fruit smoothie shop on site, run by his spouse and they also have supplements that help promote well-being, immunity and energy. I am grateful I found Body and Mind healing and hope that you give it a try too. There is a reason you are looking into it, please just go!

This was my first time of intentional silence, and it turned out to be a different experience than what I expected (in a good way). The way Blandine, Uriel and Radu combined meditation, yoga, lectures, inspirational videos, the delish food, the mountain settings, and the accommodation itself was truly beautiful. This 10-day silent meditation retreat truly was an incredible experience of shifting perceptions about God, Ego, Love, disconnection from my true self, and reconnection to my true self. Thank you Blandine, Uriel and Radu for sharing your wisdom (a true goldmine!) and for providing a supportive environment in which to explore our inner world.

I started practicing yoga after covid lock down in July, before that I practiced at home by following some app or went to gym take group class. By chance I visited Kru Nok’s yoga studio in JJ market. I have to say it’s completely different from other places, it’s really great to practice yoga like this, detailed instructions, warm but powerful adjustment, quite and joyful meditation. I gained the energy and peace during each practice. From then on I never stop, I almost joined the practice everyday. As I wanted to know more about yoga, Kru Nok gave me lots of encouragement to take the TTC which I’ve never thought about, but I really did it. All the teachers here are knowledgeable, professional, kind, and patient, I can feel their love to yoga, to all the students. It’s one of the most wonderful experience in my life to learning from Kru Nok, Master Anil, Kru Meeny, Kru Jane and Kru Biw. And I guess it will be a reason for me to stay longer in Chiang Mai so I can practice yoga here longer! Strongly recommend it to all!

This was my first yoga class in several months, and it was such a joy! Challenging and healing and energizing! The yoga teacher, Ning, encouraged me to work hard to achieve positions that I thought might be beyond my ability. She also respected my needs to stop and breathe. The studio was beautiful and clean. Overall, the class was so lovely that it made me decide to pick yoga up again. Unfortunately, I do not live in Chiang Mai. If I lived in Chiang Mai, I would be here all the time.
