Beaufort Vineyard & Estate Winery

In September 2019, Beaufort became the first organically certified vineyard on Vancouver Island. Winemaker Freya Timmermans crafts the vintage in small batches for a unique expression of our Island’s cool coastal climate. Expect youthful, fruit-driven reds, and lively, aromatic whites. Walked through the beautiful gardens full of lavender to the tasting room where we were greeted very warmly. There is a selection of 5 of the approximately 12 wines that are produced here that are one at any one time for tasting. On our visit, it was 3 whites and 2 reds. The staff member who helped us with the tasting (sorry didn't get a name) was extremely pleasant and knowledgeable. Although the wines are not inexpensive, they are delicious. We particularly appreciated the Petite Milo - which is a grape especially bred for Vancouver Island. There is a nice picnic area on the deck, so one could quite happily bring lunch and buy a nice bottle to go with it.

Loved this winery! This is a true family winery nestled in the Cowichan Valley. Mark (winemaker) and Linda (President) and their daughters Robin and Katherine bring commitment and delight to winemaking resulting in amazing products. My daughter and I tasted five beautiful wines while Linda provided details and history while we sipped. She shared family stories and even unveiled a fun contest where we could vote between winemaker father and daughter's Pinot Gris. We had a wonderful visit and felt safe with all Covid protocols fully observed. Thank you!
