The 10 Best Wine Tours & Tastings in Malaga, Andalucia

April 25, 2022 Kaleigh Reichenbach

Malaga is one of the oldest cities in the world, founded in the 8th century by the Phoenicians. Today, art is everywhere-- you can experience exhibits dedicated to glass and crystal, classic cars, contemporary installations, and, of course, the works of Picasso, who was born here. Wander past banana trees and beautiful fountains as you walk through Paseo del Parque, then hit the old city to quench your thirst at a Spanish tavern.

Getting to the location was an adventure on its own, it was a breathtaking and beautiful drive. We had a warm and very friendly welcome with a lit fire in the house and the smell of freshly baked bread and coffee. Everything was organised for us to get started on a 4 course meal to cook in a homely kitchen. The main course we prepared outside on a gas fire and the smells of fresh ingredients, herbs and spices mixed with the fantastic views gave us a feeling of serenity.

We had a tour with Victor where he showed us around the Málaga center and told us all the goodies! It was such an interesting tour with so much inside information. I have lived in Málaga for two years and yet, I didn’t know where the oldest restaurant with authentic food was located. I discovered artistic things I had never even seen. The city and its monuments just got a whole other meaning! It really made me fall in love with the place even more and I learned about history and some things that still make me laugh inside. Really recommend “We love Málaga”. It was awesome!

I tried things I probably would have never chosen off a menu. I found some new favorites. I definitely will be looking into doing another one of these tours when in Madrid it Bcn. I wish I could remember the name of our guide but he was exceptionally helpful and gave us great tips for the rest of our trip.
