There are two big waterfalls, one over another. The path is good and easy, I recommend trainers. One of the waterfall has a path all around it, which is fantastic that you can stand under the stone and the waterfall falls down.

The slope of Sleme is covered in numerous waterfalls, the highest of which is the Crne vode waterfall which cascades down in a 70 metre drop, only to disappear underground.

The Bistrica river with its source Pod Luknjo is the strongest affluent of the Sava Bohinjka river. The stream flowing through the Bohinjska Bistrica river gets its water from the lower Bohinj mountains. The Bistrica stream has a picturesque impassable gorge which has not yet been arranged for tourist visits. You can, however, visit its impressive source with the waterfalls.

We walked the trail from Kobarid to this site several times while we stayed in this area, and enjoyed it each time. I think we were fortunate to be able to go when it was not crowded, as the walk to the waterfall through the wooded path were scenic, peaceful, and quiet, and as enjoyable as the short visit to the falls themselves. There is a 4 euro entrance fee for adults, less for children, and after talking to the very pleasant people working the small booth, it seemed reasonable to help maintain the site -- i.e. the metal bridges built to replace the old slippery stone ones. It's a unusual waterfall as the water streams down through a crack in the rock surface above to a crystal pool below.

We walked this trail one afternoon, thinking we would do a light hike!... It turned out instead into quite a demanding trail, which is separated in two parts: the first waterfall is reachable after a moderate walk with some steeper parts covered by steps, making it accessible to most. This fall is already quite beautiful. But for those with energy, I strongly recommend to continue the path upwards: first, you will get to a nice and cozy little hut offering delicious homemade food with a gorgeous view, and then, after some rather gruelling ascent, you will reach the gem of this walk - the 2nd waterfall! This towering drop of water is breathtaking, and you can reach the very foot of it, to get a sense of the spray and wind generated by the column of water... if you do not mind scrambling and doing a bit of ferrata to get there. This is perfectly doable, if you are feeling a bit acrobatic. This was just one of the highlights of our stay!

In Tamar, from beneath the mountain crest of the Ponce, springs the source of the river, the Sava Dolinka. Its source, which surfaces from a rock crack and flows down the rocky riverbed to the valley, is called Nadiza. It soon disappears again in the gravelly terrain only to surface again a few hundred meters lower down the valley at Zelenci.
