The city is located in the Chapada dos Veadeiros and, since 2001, in the environmental protection area (APA) of Pouso Alto. Alto Paraíso is about 220km from Brasilia/DF and 412km from Goiânia/GO. Alto Paraíso is located in the central Brazilian Highlands, a region characterized by the cerrado biome, also known as the Brazilian savannah. It’s a beautiful waterfall located in Fazenda São Bento. During the rain period (december to February) the flow of the waters is even higher. The track is easy, and you can park your car inside the farm area. It costa R$ 40,00 to visit three waterfalls in Fazenda São Bento.

The Carioquinhas waterfall has natural pools scattered all over the place. It is the perfect place to relax, sunbathe and swim. We spent the day in the National Park and also visited the incredible rock formations of Rio Preto Canyon II, which is a huge crevice between two rocks. There are 11 km of trail in total.
