The Balneario de Carolina, which has won for several consecutive years the Blue Flag Award for cleanliness and water quality, is one of the busiest and favorite beaches around the metropolitan area. It has a spectacular white sand and a beautiful clear water. It has so many things to do that you will end your day exhausted but full of joy. Fun attractions for everyone in your group like watersports, beach Volleyball court, a small but amazing water park for the kids and gastronomy for everybody's taste and refreshing drinks. Or you can just relax while tanning, float in the water or even rent a gazebo for an entire day and bring your own goodies. It will just be a perfect day in a perfect place. ?

The clubhouse and stands suffered a direct hit from Maria, but the attitude and excitement makes up for the viewing facilities. The track and grounds are in great shape and the races are competitive and exciting. The betting windows are open, there are concessions for food and drink. I really enjoyed our beautiful Friday afternoon here. The track is a relatively short drive from Isla Verde or Condado, a little further from Old San Juan. If you enjoy horse races, this is for you.

The Arecibo Lighthouse and Historical Park is a cultural theme park located in the surrounding area of the Arecibo Lighthouse. It has an innovative and unique concept that includes among other things five cultural representations of Puerto Rico's history, which transports all of our visitors through historical and cultural events from the Spanish Conquest of 1493 to 1898 when this lighthouse was built and the Spanish-American war occurred.
The actual lighthouse was closed due to COVID-19 when we visited, but the beach at the foot of the lighthouse was definitely the best beach we visited in Puerto Rico. Wish we had planned on a beach day - but lesson learned. Always be ready for the beach when traveling in Puerto Rico!
