New Zealand (/njuːˈziːlənd/ ( listen); Māori: Aotearoa [aɔˈtɛaɾɔa]) is an island country in the southwestern Pacific Ocean. The country geographically comprises two main landmasses—the North Island (Te Ika-a-Māui), and the South Island (Te Waipounamu)—and around 600 smaller islands. New Zealand is situated some 1,500 kilometres (900 mi) east of Australia across the Tasman Sea and roughly 1,000 kilometres (600 mi) south of the Pacific island areas of New Caledonia, Fiji, and Tonga. Because of its remoteness, it was one of the last lands to be settled by humans. During its long period of isolation, New Zealand developed a distinct biodiversity of animal, fungal and plant life. The country's varied topography and its sharp mountain peaks, such as the Southern Alps, owe much to the tectonic uplift of land and volcanic eruptions. New Zealand's capital city is Wellington, while its most populous city is Auckland.

Had a brilliant evening!! Cheese and wine on arrival by the river. Then we kayaked along stunning vegetation and trees into some caves to see the glow worms and on our return journey we were fortunate enough to have a full moon to light our way back in the stillness of the evening with occasional night sounds of birds! A very memorable experience.

Loved the care taken to design the tracks, going on bridges and tunnels, with a charming garden surrounding the train track. Our boys loved the visit; would heartily recommend to families.

Spookers is a live entertainment experience in which the victims (you!) move through theatrically themed Haunted Houses, and outdoor environments decorated by sets, props and live scare-actors. As you walk through the attractions you will come across unexpected visual, tactile, and sound effects intended to scare the yell out of you. Are you tired of the mundane? Need some excitement in your life? Spine chilling, blood spilling, thrilling, terrifying horror will grab hold of you from start to finish. From the blood curdling butcher to the so-sad babies and other tortured souls with their voices seeping through the floorboards; just three steps into Spookers Haunted House could have you begging for mercy and sprinting for the door! Disturbia takes 'three dimensional' to another level. Step into the world of blacklight loving freaks! Tight spaces, loud noises and the fast pace will test your limits. Psychedelic clowns take "clowning around" to their irrational happy place. Don't hide, because they'll find you! Giggling, cackling, sending chills through your body. Fear takes over, you can't move. Bright lights, flickering all around you…. walls closing in on you. Disturbia is thoroughly disturbing.
Spoiler Free Review: This is a review of the annual Spookers 'fun' run - Run For Your Freak'n Life. To summarise, it's a 5km run/walk with plenty of obstacles and zombies. You can run in teams, you carry four tags around your waist and the goal is to get all the members of your team to the finish line together, with as many tags as possible. I don't think it's really about winning though. We took about 90 minutes to do the course. I'm going to sum up by saying it was amazing and REALLY fun. The obstacles were challenging, some requiring team work, you will get completely covered in mud and wet, all while being chased by zombies and chainsaws - yes, during the run, you hear random chainsaws being started in the forest and people screaming as a result. The organisation was excellent, but my biggest praise goes to the actors. Amazing (and frightening) make-up aside, they really played their parts to perfection - there were plenty of genuine shocks making you run like hell - even though you know they are just actors. Secondly, zombies will give you assistance if you get in a bit of strife (while still staying in character) - we had Granddad and he need some help getting out of swamps - cue a zombie. I had a crash on one of the obstacles, cue a zombie checking I'm alright.. before screaming at me and taking a tag. I would recommend this, I'm going to do it again - it would be a great birthday activity for teens (13+ minimum age), great corporate activity etc etc - there is a costume competition as well. Well done Spookers :)

Home to thrilling slides and rides Splash Planet offers something for all. Stay dry with favourites such as Formula Fun Go Karts, Mini Golf and the nostalgic Fantasyland Express or get wet and wild in the awesome water theme park with the Master Blaster and the most extreme ride of all the Sky Castle Screamer.
Great water park. I recommend bringing lunch, getting there when they open and spending the day. There are water slides, as well as dry land activities (mini golf, jungle jeeps, kids village). Great for all ages. And reasonably priced too.

Of all the heated pool offerings in NZ, this one is the best. By far. Especially good on a cold Winter day when you can see the weather outside & not give a fig. Fantastic gym - worth the visit alone and great if you are a visitor to the city and are looking to train casually.

Set at the base of Mount Te Aroha in a natural bush setting, the outdoor heated leisure pools are the perfect place to relax or play. Swim Zone Te Aroha is perfect for a fun family day out, with a large pool, toddler's pool and water toys to cater for all ages. Or take time to enjoy a quiet soak in our outdoor spa.
We decide do try swim zone ,as hot pool at holiday camp closed. We were surprised , lovely place for children , I enjoyed the hotter spa, changing rooms lovely and clean with great heaters to keep you warm. Staff very helpful and friendly. It is a great place over the expensive mineral spas next door. Affordable.
