this was two different habitats...river with plenty of birds, hippos, elephants and land with lions, elephants. Even though the end of the dry season we saw plenty of islands and the variety of the landscape was great. I only had 2 days in Vicotira Falls and was glad I did this safari

TLDR; this is a tremendous experience for the adventurous traveler; if you have an open mindset about meeting new people, enjoy hiking and the outdoors, and don't mind an occasionally rough ride, this is an incredible trip and well worth your time. Having never traveled outside the US, I wanted to go big on my first solo trip with the 62-day excursion from Pretoria to Nairobi. Since it was such an extensive trip, I was looking for the most value for my time, based on price, activities, and safety. I backpack often, so beyond basic comfort was not a priority for me, which turned out to be a good mindset to adopt since we camped nearly the entire trip, & rode in a truck with no AC (Namibia gets hot!). Tip - be ready to retrieve the rain fly for your tent during unexpected 3 AM rain showers! However, nearly all of the sites we stayed at had the option to upgrade from camping to comfortable indoor accommodations, which was a nice option to take advantage of occasionally. Once we reached our site for the night, we began our daily rotating duties, which included helping to cook, clean the truck, and do dishes, which I think added to the experience and helped bond our fellow tourists. Traveling solo, I felt safe at all times with our guides, drivers, and locations. My trip was split between two guides, Crispen, then Pete, and they were great company that looked out for us and kept us safe and informed about everything around us. Our guides were familiar with the paths and knew everyone at our destinations. Nothing surprised them. Our drivers were impressive as well, with Harmony and Francis keeping us safe on the often-tumultuous African roads. Navigating both urban and off-road environments in our trucks was no easy task, and Francis even proved his mechanic skills during the occasional break-down. The variety of locations we stayed at were simply incredible. From Cape Town to the deserts of Namibia, the Okavango Delta to Zanzibar Island, the mixture of urban and remote landscapes couldn't have been better. We saw every animal you can imagine. On a trip like this, an open mindset is key. Traveling for two months with strangers can go any number of ways, but due to this trip, I now have lifelong friends scattered across the globe that I can't wait to visit. This wasn't just a vacation, it was a lasting, eye-opening experience that I believe everyone should try if possible. I can't recommend this trip enough. I wish I could go back to January and do it all over again.

What a fabulous wee trip. Picked up at our villa we drove out to local helicopter landing site where our hosts set up. Our guide was very knowledgeable informative about all this celestial. Unfortunately for us the moon was resplendent in all its glory so no dark sky. However we saw many constellations and heard many stories of battles and gods. We now need to do the same at home????. The only thing we might suggest is that folding chairs may be a help for folks necks. We really enjoyed the evening however and learned loads. Every blessing on the future of your business.

The private guided walk with Simon was very informative and very great. Not only is he a private guide, he is also a good photographer. He has a very good work ethic which speaks volumes about his integrity. He was very punctual and came informed about everything we will need on our tour and also to get access to the park. He went further to check on our well-being, our knowledge of the area and even suggested the best activities in order for us to have the best experience. I felt like I was there when Victoria falls was discovered and named because of how much I learned through Simon. I have to admit he really does know the place. Most importantly I felt safe having a guide who knew the limits. Thank you Simon!

Working together, our tour guide Craig (left) and driver David (right) provided 20 people from 6 countries with an absolutely great, first-rate 4,000 kilometer tour of South Africa - starting in Johannesburg and ending in Cape Town. It’s still hard to believe how smoothly everything went - thanks to their professionalism and our friendly fellow passengers. There were many wonderful moments, but my highlights included a tour of Soweto, Nelson Mandela’s home, and the Apartheid Museum; leopards in Kruger National Park, rhinos in Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park, and every hippopotamus; the journey up to the highest point in the Drakenburg Mountains; Crawford’s Beach Resort with its view of the Indian Ocean; Premier Hotels & Resorts in Knysna; African Penguins at Boulders Bay, and gorgeous Capetown with its iconic Tabletop, Lion’s Head, Robbens Island and surrounding vineyards. Have I mentioned the country’s complicated and inspiring history, scenic grandeur, incredibly kind people, magnificent animals and delicious wines? I plan to visit again soon. Craig is an outstanding tour guide who makes the complex work of being a guide appear effortless. Craig’s long experience, management skills and tireless work behind the scenes or in full view of his passengers smoothed the way for all our arrivals and departures over the course of long days on the road that were even longer for him. There was nothing he didn’t do to make the trip enjoyable for all of us. Listening to Craig talk about South Africa during our two-week journey also made the bus trip much more interesting for me. At appropriate moments during the day Craig informed the group about our location or an upcoming experience. His discussions ranged from socio-economic and political history to comments on the incredible natural beauty of South Africa’s landscape, plants and animals. Craig conveys a love for his country that’s heartwarming, as well as inspiring. Whether on superhighways, city streets or mountain roads, David drove so well, we barely felt the road and arrived at all of our destinations safely and on schedule. In addition to his driving skill, David always had a smile and kind word for all his passengers. Long before the end of the trip, we all knew it would be hard to say our good-byes. One fellow traveler even wrote a song and sang her thanks to Craig and David! The rest of us were left with a final smile, hand-shake and hug for these two wonderful people who made our Cullinan Tour memorable and enjoyable.
