November 6, 2021 Roger Rusk

There is rich and beautiful history within Lagos’ 14th century walls, from its fortress to picturesque churches like Medieval São João Hermitage and the 17th-century São Sebastião. But that’s all appetizer. People come here for a main-course coastal buffet featuring more than a half-dozen beautiful beaches. Quiet sandy coves are sandwiched between dramatic cliffs. The sandy 2.5-mile stretch of Meia Praia caters to every water sport imaginable. And when you’ve had your fill, you can digest your day with some of the best nightlife in the Algarve region.

I've been living in Lagos for 12 years and during this time I've learnt a great deal about the history of Portugal and the port town of Lagos. Alongside this I've picked up many secrets on great restaurants, bars and places of interest along with a bunch of money saving tips for travellers. I like to entertain so I promise a few laughs along the way. We'll finish the tour with a sweet Portuguese delicacy and hopefully a drink at my favourite bar.

Inclusions: To finish the tour we'll try some Portuguese delicacies/sweets.

Vagabundo travel guided my wife and I on a "Best of the West,' tour. The guide drove us to the most desirable locations and vistas west of Lagos, all the while making sure we had a drink at all times and even fed us lunch from a vista above the ocean that is one of the most beautiful in the world. The guide knows where the best spots to take it all in and his friendliness and storytelling are top notch. From old small town castles to glorious sunsets. The tour only takes about 4 hours, and includes lunch and all you can drink. It was a no brainer to let Vagabondo travel spoil us and guide us through the day..This is a must do for travelers in and around Lagos.

Hey there, traveler! Since 2013, I have been crafting, refining & sharing this one-of-a-kind experience, one small batch at a time, with thousands of guests from around the world. My approach is unconventional: I choose wilderness & remoteness over guidebook tourist destinations; intentional, mindful travel over superficial sightseeing; discovery & learning opportunities over photo opportunities; rustic, physical experiences over easy, mass-market ones. Each trip is hand-crafted from scratch & continually shaped as we go: No two are ever the same. My intention is always the same: To share a travel experience that's not just fun, but meaningful; not just good for us, but for the world; not just a social-media moment, but a memory for life. Because for me, this is more than just a business: It is an expression & reflection of my passions, values & personal vision of this special piece of planet Earth. So, join me for a one-of-a-kind adventure you won't soon forget, promise.

Inclusions: A delicious, home-made, starlit picnic dinner of locally-inspired tapas, highlighting the regions rich & diverse tradition of flavor: It's a healthy, hearty, nourishing, & friendly to all eaters., Sunset is time for a glass of wine (or two!), Private transportation, Drop off: At your door (Lagos only), Backpacks, water bottles, wind & rain protection, warm jackets, beach towels & more, provided as needed.., It's best to bring (and reuse many times!) your own water bottle, but I have extras, and provide refills throughout the day., All Fees and Taxes
