Nestled between the Caribbean and lush mountains, Basseterre has a long history of colonial struggle that is reflected in its architecture and cultural monuments. The National Museum, St. George's Anglican Church, the Circus area and Independence Square all give glimpses to the city's past. But most travelers do not come to Basseterre for history; they come for the beaches, resorts and marinas, offering ample snorkeling, windsurfing, diving, sunbathing and golfing opportunities.

Great day! Pick up was at 10:00am, drop off by 3:00pm. - Timothy Hill - Drive through Basse Terre via Calypso Bay - Caribelle Batik / Romney Manor - Brimstone Hill National Fortress - Black Rocks Joseph (Annie's husband) was very kind, knowledgeable, and flexible when we wanted to take a little extra time at Brimstone National Fortress (we ended up being the only ones on the tour that day). Highly recommended. Pack a few snacks and water just in case you get a little hungry.

The guides from Poinciana are very loud and rather obnoxious. It's hard to enjoy the natural beauty of the area when the guide is constantly yelling.

Clayton was our guide and did a fantastic job of taking us to spots we wanted to see. He also recommended Lime Beach Bar for lunch, took us there and picked us up in time to meet the ferry back to St. Kitts. He was so concerned that we get back to St. Kitts he had someone else he knew on the ferry watch over us. All in all I would definitely book this trip again thru Tropical Tours. They did a wonderful and thorough job.

We did the rainforest tour and it was excellent. There was somebody waiting for us in port when we docked and we were promptly taken to a very comfortable car for our drive to the rainforest. Here we were met by Kelvin who was our rainforest tour guide. Kelvin was so knowledgable and the whole tour was magnificent. It was a real pleasure to be guided by someone who knew so much - we were even treated to fresh almonds, straight from the pod! Afterwards, we were taken to a small bar where we had tasty complimentary snacks and a drink, before being driven back to the cruise port in PLENTY of time to re-board the ship before it left the island. A wonderful excursion. If we are ever lucky enough to be back in St Kitts, we will use Island Paradise Tours again for sure! Thanks everyone - we had such a great day!

Greg picked us up in a modified late model Dodge Ram pickup. The box was modified with 3 rows of bench seating and a roof overtop to provide some shade. Heads definitely turn to look while traveling in this monster. Greg was right on time and provided a safe trip to and from our catamaran trip. Highly recommend Greg & Beach Ram Tours for your transportation needs while on St Kitts.

Drive to the Parish of St Paul where you will journey about 16 miles from the city of Basseterre onto the west coastline heading to the furthest point in the north. The volcano stands at 3792 feet and is the highest point on the island. On the top of central forest reserve the Volcano rim is 2800 feet above sea. At the high mountain which takes about 2 to 2.5 hours hiking upwards, lies cloaked in a dwarfed cloud forest and overlooks what is often referred to as “Giants Salad Bowl. Sugar City, St Kitts’ volcano crater is one 1,000-feet deep and almost one mile wide.

Nothing what we expected this excursion from our cruise to be! It said, nature, wildlife and flowers. Our tour guide was obsessed about the trees, the tree names and what we can do with every tree for medicine or eating. We spotted a bunch of monkeys and were so excited but our tour guide said "it's sad the new government doesn't let us kill them anymore because they eat and ruin all the crops". Then proceed to continue on the tour without even talking about what kind of monkeys or how they even got here. He didn't care we saw a bunch of hummingbirds our tour guide was more interested in picking and handing us a lemon leaf or all of us touching an aloe plant. Once we got into the rainforest we noticed the tour walked along the pipe line, it was dirty and nothing scenic about the area at all. He explained every tree in sight but forgot to mention the cool millipede we spotted and walked away when we pointed it out. I really thought this tour was about nature and not trees because I would have picked a far different tour then trees! It said moderate trails and at one point our tour guide said when someone falls we will all laugh and you will get muddy but you'll stand up and continue on, he never waited for the whole group to catch up and at one point a bunch of us might as well been hiking without a tour guide. At least then we were spotting bugs in the forest. Be prepared there is no food or drinks to buy on this trip and at the end they gave out a few apples, bananas, cake and juice. Not much after hiking for 3 hours in a muggy forest.
This tour includes the main points of interest, such as National Museum, Berkeley Memorial, Independence Square, old historical churches on the island, The Egrets Birds Nest, Bloody Point, Wingfield Plantation as well as the beginning of the rainforest, the Botanical Gardens at Romney Manor home of Caribelle Batik. We continue on to Black Rocks this is where the volcanic lava flow formed rock formations on the island's coastline. We proceed to the beginning of the Southern Peninsula atop Timothy hill where there is a beautiful Panoramic view of both the Atlantic ocean as well as the caribbean sea adjacent to each other. This open safari island tour requires a minimum of 10 persons, but can accomodate much larger groups as well
Inclusions: Local rum punch, beers and bottled water, All Fees and Taxes
Exclusions: Lunch
This tour in a 10 passenger ( more or less) Toyota minibus with air conditioning was the way to go for us older tourists. There were several pit stops with views and good descriptions along the way.The open air tours would have worn out us from the heat and wind.
