Onsen style, just for you. In Zao Onsen, a hot spring town with history going back more than 300 years, Japan’s first onsen-style shop has opened on Takayu Street in January 2020. 3 tips to enjoying your time in Zao Onsen: 1. Onsen style shop We sell cute and fashionable onsen goods with a lot of one-of-a-kind pieces you won’t find anywhere else. Just looking around the shop itself is fun! 2. Break room Take a break after wandering the town with 4 tables and 10 seats and charging outlets for your use, just 500 yen/hour. We also offer hot water for tea or coffee, and you’re free to bring your own food and snacks. 3. Play space In the middle of this historic town you can enjoy wooden traditional games in the break room. Adults and children are welcome to play with locally made shogi, kendama, spinning tops, and chess with kokeshi dolls. 4. Activities (for Spring) We hope your stay in Zao Onsen makes beautiful memories.
