Visit York's Information Centre is good at people! Everything we do has the customer in mind and each day we meet students, couples, families, overseas visitors, non English speaking visitors all wanting to York in a day! Between them our staff speak nine languages and are supported by 30 dedicated volunteers. Visit York's Information Centre provides everything you need to get the most out of your visit to the city - maps, guidebooks, York Pass- the official sightseeing card and best way to see the city and beyond, attraction tickets and a huge rage of regional gifts. Visit England, the national tourism agency, has named Visit York's Visitor Information Centre the best in the country. The Team in York represented one of just three finalists in the Visitor Information Provider of the Year category and were thrilled to bring home the gold.

For a full day out with the family, head to The Moors National Park Centre, set in an idyllic spot on the banks of the river Esk on the outskirts of the village of Danby. For kids, there's an outdoor adventure play area and mud kitchen, indoor climbing wall, and events every school holiday. There are pushchair and wheelchair friendly woodland and riverside trails around the grounds and plenty of picnic areas and seating if you just want to sit back and soak up the fantastic views across the Esk Valley. There's also interactive exhibits inside and the acclaimed Inspired by... gallery with changing exhibitions by contemporary artists. There's an Information Centre, gift shop specialising in local produce and crafts, and café. Admission is free. Pay & Display parking.
My friend and i visited last week (16th July 2020). We had a cup of coffee each, and sat outside in the nice sunshine. Social distancing means one at a time at the counter. There were a few seats inside. Quick and friendly service and nice coffee. The centre itself was open but on this occasion we didnt visit, though have done in the past and its well worth a quick look round.

Visited here recently & we spent about 3 hours wandering around exploring everything, the museum is well worth a look around & the video is also informative, the shop is very well laid out & has a selection of Mouseman as well as other high quality items including some beautiful reasonably priced jewellery, now for the food, I opted for ham & vegetable soup & Wensleydale cheese sandwich both of which were lovely especially the soup which is homemade by the boss I was told & is well worth trying & the cakes looked beautiful too but we were just too full this time, before leaving we both purchased a couple of special pieces, had to be done, I’m afraid I couldn’t resist ???? the staff are exceptional both in the cafe & the shop, perfect day in every way & we will return ASAP

With a friendly and knowledgeable team and details of visitor attractions, places of interest, what's going on in the local area, plus a host of maps, books and excellent souvenir and gift ranges, the centre provides an essential service for those wanting to know what's happening in the Craven District. While Skipton Town Hall is under redevelopment we are temporarily located on Coach Street. We have social distancing, cleaning procedures, screens and hand sanitiser in place. We are encouraging contactless payments whenever possible. Please wear a face covering when visiting us. Follow our Social Media channels for updates.
What a lovely, helpful team. We had such a lovely lady serve us and she was so helpful. Very nice selection of gifts and a good, varied collection of leaflets for local attractions. Definitely worth a visit!
