Teresa Smith was very helpful to me when I contacted her about needing access to a printer on my vacation to Maggie Valley. She went out of her way to help me find someplace to print my departure plane boarding pass and even offered to meet me at the Chamber, on a day when it was closed, just to print my pass for me. Super service. Maggie Valley has the best people! Thanks, Teresa.

Located in the Catawba River Valley in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Burke County is situated in the rolling landscape of western North Carolina. Stop by the Burke Visitor Center for all the information you need to relocate or vacation here!
This was our meeting place to take the Ridgeline Trolley on Blue Ridge Parkway up to Linville Falls. Beautiful fall tree colors. The Burke Center has lots of brochures on area. Very informative. This is only information center. I answered no on most of questions asked below. If you take the Ridgeline Trolley tour definitely wear athletic shoes.

NC visitor center on Hwy 441N coming into NC from GA. Country Store in same facilities as public restrooms.
This rest area is much nicer than the ones along the interstate highways. The restrooms have upscale wood and glass walls, like a mountain lodge. The visitor info center has helpful guides, lots of brochures, and a very nice gift center with some local products. I got a beautiful recycled paper birthday card for less than $4. Outside there are several picnic tables under shady trees. This is a great place to stretch the legs.

Want to know one of the best ways to save money and find a room in the Asheville area in the fall? Make your first stop the Asheville Visitor Center in downtown Asheville at 36 Montford Avenue. Pick up brochures and coupons from area attractions and accommodations. For help with finding your way around Asheville, chat with one of the many volunteers who can help customize your visit and provide insider information.
We came to Asheville with reservations to tour the Vanderbilt house. Having spent a day at Biltmore, we went to the Visitor Center the next day. A bus was in the lot and the staff inside the Center asked if we were here for the bus tour leaving in 5 minutes. Yes, good idea. The center is large, well laid out and welcoming with clean restrooms which was all we had time to see. Our tour bus driver-guide was outstanding. He had an answer for any question. We learned so much about the area history and the people there. The tour was worth every cent we paid.

If you're looking for information about the park or other near by things this would be the place. Looking for info on the park? They have it, info on the bears or elk they have it. Things to do in the area they have it. There also is a nice gift shop within. The rest rooms are well kept and the staff are very friendly. Stop in and say hello, browse around. Directly behind the visitor center is an old village from back in the early days. Very interesting.

We were doing some scenic driving when we saw the signs for the Vance Birthplace, not a native to NC, so we wanted to stop and get the history. Such a wonderful experience takes about an hour to explore if you love history! Has a nice covered shelter for a family picnic as well. We will bring our grandchildren on our return trip to NC.
