We just took over again on december 2016 !WE are just in the center of Tamarindo, next to restaurants, chops, banques, Pharmacy and supermarket. You will be 20 steps away from the beach, the sun, the sea! Come and relax at Hotel La Palapa

But what is priceless: the people (Giovanni & Mario in particular) and the fact that you walk out of your room and the delicious beach is right there! The food at the restaurant is to die for!

Reviewed By 297iselamNot only is a nice place to stay, the staff was really friendly and you can walk to the beach. They even sent me my shoes back via mail because I left them there. We got a spacious room for three, we had a private bathroom and a fridge.

Reviewed By 3392peekOur host Guy and Trudy Millette were great, Easy to get in contact with and helpful when we needed them. Jessica and her staff were also great, always available when we needed questions answered. The house is very comfortable with everything we needed to cook or BBQ. We were up in the mountain right in the jungle and had Howler monkeys camp out just adjacent to the patio, funny little creatures to watch but well worth the trip. Although you can get up there in a car, some local folks do, I'd recommend and Guy did a 4X4, makes the ride a bit easier. Thanks Guy, Trudy and Jessica and staff.

Reviewed By R2843OAryanrCasa Monacita was absolutely amazing. Mona is extremely nice and very helpful with anything you may need while staying there. JR and Miguel are fantastic people who are willing to go above and beyond to make your stay the most comfortable and relaxing as possible. The layout of this get away is so unique and perfect for family, friends, large or small parties. It is one street away from downtown Tamarindo and is a 5 minute walk from the beach. I wouldn't stay anywhere else next time I visit, this was the perfect vacation and the crew at casa monacita made it that much better.

WORST PLACE EVER!
Reviewed By 792ranimTerrible place to stay. DO NOT STAY HERE! It is honestly a safety concern. The bathroom of our room stopped working so maintenance came to fix it and they let us change rooms. This morning we had all of our belongings. We securely lock the rooms before every time we left. The next morning when we were leaving we realized FOUR LAPTOPS WERE MISSING AND CASH. Nothing was out in the open, they were all secured in our backpacks. We were furious and very scared and we talked to the owners. We NEVER took our laptops outside of our room, and yet they were yelling at us that they didn't do it, and that their employees never would. It sounded like they were defending themselves, instead of trying to help us. We told them to question their employees... because who else?.. and instead of sayin yes they just would yell at us at how they have the best employees who would never. You never know. There is NO cameras (why would you not have cameras at a hotel) or proper security to show the police it was them, but keep in mind the property is very small so you can see almost anything from the front desk. They said such rude things to us. He said "I don't think you locked your door properly," "I don't know who you brought around here," and "I don't know maybe you took your laptop to the beach and now you are blaming us," and worst "My laptop is always at the front desk. Why didn't someone steal mine?" Worst experience in my life and scary too especially as 4 women. We know the staff of the hotel stole from us, because our doors were ALWAYS locked but unfortunately we have no proof.

A perfect family vacation
Reviewed By Dreamer15639056590Beautiful place to stay, family friendly, very nice neighborhood, has all the accommodations to relax and have a great time. The hosts are very kind and will make sure you have a perfect experience in this little peace of heaven in Costa Rica. Would definitely stay again and recommend it! In just 3 days we enjoyed the beach in Carrillo and Samara, saw whales, dolphins, marine turtles and also enjoyed nature in a spectacular horse ride where we saw monkeys, beautiful views and had a spectacular experience.

Villa Tortuga - Best Vacation Ever!
Reviewed By glenntT4113TBDave and the crew here under his leadership are absolutely fantastic. We stayed at the Villas for 8 days and I must say the word stress does not exist in this place. We were present for the Christmas holidays and Jesus with Daves help made sure we had a great time, From surfing with the Nosara Surf School, (Steven Noguera) Offshore fishing, ATV'S and the list goes on. My family and I look forward to when we can return.

Reviewed By jahend0This place is an oasis in paradise. Beautiful villas with super cool showers and window walls that slide completely open to your private courtyard. This great property has a great shared open kitchen area with a beautiful pool area. Great to share it with all the birds, monkeys, iguana's and beautiful foliage. Feels like Marcos & Jeisha are now family from the time we spent there with them. And this place is so convenient to many great beaches within a short drive. The only downside was that we did eventually had to leave! Can't wait to get back and see these guys as soon as possible. We miss you!

Each unit is a separate condo unit that accommodates 4-10 people with full kitchens, indoor and outdoor sitting areas, and access to a large pool and a smaller kid pool. The grounds are maintained well and the atmosphere is relaxed. The surf varies and is often good for body surfing, not really regular surfing.
