Whether you are looking for a weekend break near the Lake District, Morecambe Bay, The Yorkshire Dales, business accommodation or simply an overnight stop over between Junctions 35 and 36 of the M6, The Longlands Inn is the perfect destination. Our 4 star Inn have rooms which are all designed individually with an eclectic mix of old and new. All have Vi-Spring mattresses, bright new bathrooms piled high with fluffy white towels, televisions, and a tea and coffee tray. Some have contemporary beds and others have old fashioned brass bedsteads. We have just refurbished our downstairs area and it is now a fantastic space to enjoy a variety of tasty treats including coffee and homemade cakes to a full restaurant menu serving locally sourced freshly prepared produce.
Our stay at the hotel Sun -Fri last week was fabulous, will definitely go back. Location was great staff were so friendly and helpful especially Rob and Isaac. The Royal Bingo was a hoot. Rob recommended various places to visit which we did and had some great days out. The room was nice and big with comfy chairs and fridge which was a bonus. Thanks again for a great stay. 5 + stars ?

Brathay Hall is the residential training centre of Brathay Trust, the national charity that inspires young people to become successful, confident and responsible citizens. Set in 360 acres of mature woodland and rolling pastures, at the head of Windermere, the imposing Georgian country house offers B&B accommodation suitable for all the family. The Hall is set in its own grounds on the north shore of Windermere, with beautiful views of the lake. The site offers a variety of accommodation, with something to suit all pockets from single en-suite through to luxury lodges with King size beds, seating area and good sized bathrooms. All rooms are en-suite, with colour television, tea and coffee making facilities. The Loughrigg rooms are all single en-suite and are detached from the main building, with their own parking area; Helvellyn rooms are en-suite, and can be either singles or twinned, and are situated in the main Hall; the Scafell rooms are our latest addition and take the form of luxury lodges, again detached from the main building; all are en-suite; and feature picture windows with stunning views of the Cumbrian hills. Breakfast is served from 8am – 9am in our dining room, where you can gaze out across the grounds at the beautiful lake and hills, truly an inspiring start to the day.
What a perfect location right on the northwest shore of lake Windermere and tucked away from the madding crowd! I stayed in the main hall and the accommodation is simple, clean and well thought out. Very comfortable bed and lovely views from all windows! Evening meals were quite basic but tasty and filling, hot and cold buffet breakfasts were great. I would highly recommend!

Staffield Hall is located in the Eden Valley in Cumbria just outside the boundary of the Lake District National Park. We have easy access to the M6 motorway and to the north Lakes of the LAke district.Staffield hall was completely refurbished in 2006 to provide eight 5 beautiful apartments which are graded 5 stars by Visit Britain. The apartments are designed to mix the traditional features of a yester year with contempory and modern comfort and style.
Staffield hall is set in beautiful surroundings. The group I was with took over the whole house. All rooms were well appointed and fitted out, although I couldn't open dishwasher, toilet leaked, shower very noisy and no information regarding water heater. Dogs are allowed but watch out for hefty returnable surcharge. I recommend this for a family stay but be warned, despite the leaving time of 10am the cleaners started at 8am in apartments.

A family wedding party and what a fantastic house and location. Bedrooms superb, grounds superb, food to an exceptional standard and all guests served with such speed and skill. The whole experience was wonderful but above all I would state that this special day was made smooth and exceptional by the friendliness and professionalism of the staff, a credit to their training and management. Thank you!

Our family of 20 spent the most wonderful week away celebrating my 60th and Christmas staying in Waternook and The Great Barn. Waking up to wonderful views, cooking, singing, laughing, dining in the spacious kitchen. Relaxing in the hot tub, making cocktails at the bar, watching films. Lovely walks on the doorstep including a scenic walk to Pooley Bridge, and Ullswater Steamer return. Had not seen my family for almost 2 years due to lockdown, so thank you to Dominic and Laura for all your help in making it perfect. It will stay in our memory forever.

Award winning luxury accommodation. Both for the self-catering holiday guest and the business hotel traveller.
We stayed here for three days whilst we attended our daughter’s graduation ceremony in Chester. Jackie and Ray made this possible by helping out with our dog, Daisy, which we were so grateful for. Granary Cottage was immaculate- 10/10 for cleanliness, facilities, finishing touches, bed comfort/sleep, garden, location, peace & quiet etc. We loved it. The only downside is we’ll have no reason to come back to Cheshire now our daughter has finished university, but if we do head north again we’ll be sure to stay, and we will definitely recommend the cottage to our friends. Thank you Jackie and Ray for all your hard work and your friendliness- I wish we could have stayed longer, and Daisy says thanks too and woof to Cally!

Such a beautiful, gorgeous setting. Stunning venue. The bedrooms are gorgeous. Everything is clean and tidy, no complaints. Tom was amazing, helped us with everything we needed, nothing was too much. The kitchen is gorgeous as well. Outdoors is breathtaking, gorgeous. 10 out of 10. Will be visiting again as soon as possible.

Shireburne Park is situated in a beautiful mature woodland setting one mile west of the market town of Clitheroe overlooking the River Ribble. Located in the beautiful Forest of Bowland, a designated "Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty."
We had another lovely stay in the Manor House at Shireburne park. Nice decent size rooms with enough kitchen facilities for a week break. Dined in the Emporium, Waddington Arms and Holmes Milland spent evenings strolling along the river banks. The site is located on the edge of Clitheroe but a footbridge acts as short cut to provide an easy pedestrian allowing you to walk to a shop in around 5 minutes and gain access via waking to the leisure centre in 5 minutes. The site has 2 different parts a holiday part and a residential part. Given the increasing amount of plug in hybrid and full electric cars and the fact the site is on the edge of town it would be nice it the owners installed a few electric car charging points allowing onsite charging - which i fee would help pull the site away from the competition.

I attended a beautiful wedding at The Mansion. My first visit to this elegant venue. The organisation start to finish was very ‘slick’. The wedding breakfast was held in the Lovely first floor salon. Stunning room setting. I selected the tomato and courgette soup, followed by steak that melted in the mouth. Now I don’t normally eat pudding....but this sticky toffee pudding was to die for mmmmmmmmm, the staff were very professional, and attentive. A wonderful day. This is not a hotel.
