We had a very nice 2 weeks holidays, one week outside of French holiday (without childrens animation) and one week in French holiday (with childrens animation). The staff was extremely friendly and helpfull in every way and at every moment. Our strong points: - lots of excursions in the surroundings (silver mine, adventure parc, castle, Colmar, Strassbourg, Monkey mountain, ...) - heated swimming pool from 10 to 20u - childrens animation: our son doesn't speak or understand French. One girl from animation tried to involve him in Spanish, which he adored. - sauna, fitness, free wifi at the reception, table tennis tables, inflatable castle - very good and spacious bungalow with more than enough storage space and a good shower. Our negative points: - no store in or near to the parc, the Coccinelle-supermarket is down (and on the way back up) a quite steep hill - no foreign television channels in the bungalow A VERY VERY GOOD HOLIDAY, WELL RECOMMENDED!

***** The owner Yannick is a great host. The rooms are spendid, clean, spacious, modern and equipped with everything you may need. The beds are very comfortable. There is a very nice bathroom with floating toilet, shower with rainfall shower and hand shower. You also get a large bath towel, shampoo and shower foam. It was nice to have the option to drink a cup of coffee or tea in the room itself. The breakfast was lavish and again left me amazed. The owner has a parking space in the basement that you can rent for € 8 per day. As I am disabled, this was ideal and Yannick helped me lift my luggage to and from the car in the evening as well as in the morning. He is a real winner! *****

We stayed here from 6-7 June 2020. We were the first guests after the Covid19 lockdown. This is just an amazing place. Aside from the obvious comfort and peacefulness, the owners are extremely friendly and nice. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, have all the modern comforts and really really good beds. We had the 'table d'hôte' on Friday night, and the pizza's were so so nice! And a lovely Merlot to go with that! I highly recommend this place. It is a really family-run gîtes/chambres d'hôte

The castle of Osthoffen lies in Alsace France near the town of Strasbourg and the German borders. It is a medieval castle embellished through the centuries especialy under the Renaissance and the 18th centuries. It is a private property owned by the baron Philippe Grouvel and its family. It is a quarter an hour from the famous cathedral of Strasbourg and also from all the European Institutions from this town and all the museums.
If you are expecting a 5-star hotel, then you will be disappointed with this REAL castle with many historic ties. It lies in the country about 18km west of Strasbourg and the elderly proprietors are actually royalty. The guest rooms have been refurbished and the castle grounds are beautiful, especially in the morning fog. You can walk into the little town of Osthoffen and other neighboring towns are only a few minutes away in any direction. You can even catch the bus into downtown Strasbourg (highly recommended) for a couple of Euros. This way you get to see the sights of little villages on the way to Strasbourg and eliminate the headache of finding parking in Strasbourg with its notoriously poor parking. If you strike up a conversation with the Baroness at the chateau, you get quite an interesting rendering of castle life. (She is Scottish, by the way.) No, there is not a big breakfast buffet with hot items, but it is more than a continental breakfast and the coffee is strong (French roast). Think more like you are a guest in someone's chateau, not in a hotel, and you will get what you expect. I stayed for 3 nights and enjoyed every one. The nights are dark, you can see thousands of stars and the quietness is amazing.

Located on the Alsace Wine Route in Saint-Hippolyte, Le Huspa Pfannala offers modern, self-catering accommodation in a typically Alsatian house. Le Haut-Koenigsbourg is 2.5 Km away. Colmar is only a 20-minute drive away.

Chambres d'hotes Fahrer Ackermann puts the best of Rorschwihr at your fingertips, making your stay both relaxing and enjoyable.
The Chambres is a modest B&B as regards furnishings and it is not a place for people looking for opulent settings. However it is typical of the many B&Bs found in this area and the family welcomed us well and even gave us a 'degustation' of the wine they do themselves including Pinot Gris and Muscat which were excellent. The rooms may need a bit of refurbishing as they seem a bit 'tired' but on the whole they had the basic needs. The breakfast included bread, butter, home made jams, home-made pastries and coffee and tea. There is also ample parking available for visitors. Although Rorschwihr is not interesting as a town it is quite central to reach cities like Barr, Dambache-La-Ville, Colmar, Riquewihr, Ribeaville and Eguisheim. Make sure you do some wine-tasting and buy some wine as Alsace wine is incredible!

I stayed one evening on a trip across France, because of the location of a highly regarded farm brewery in the same town. It's a stunning place in the grounds of a former stud farm. The accomadation is in the former offices mess now completely refurnished, but alas without air conditioning. It was 30c when I visited so had to open both my windows wide from the moment I got there. I found somesort of reception on the first floor of the front entrance, but think this is just open till 5pm on weekdays, othertimes you'll need to phone a number. The property is lovely furnished, with large rooms but with small double beds. The bathroom however is modern & lovely. Breakfast is a little on the basic side, help yourself, with cereal, bread & jam and croissants.

Nos gîtes se situent au cœur du vignoble, à Katzenthal. Ils peuvent accueillir entre 2 et 14 personnes. Notre village est près de nombreuses activités touristiques.
We first tried to book this place through booking.com, but we had a bad experience when the proprietor suddenly raised the agreed price, and eventually we booked our stay directly on the gîte’s own website. On our arrival, the proprietors’ daughter Fanny welcomed us and apologised for the previous booking mix-up, which she blamed on the fact that they were in the middle of the busy wine harvest, before she accompanied us to our lodgings. The apartment (Charlotte) is located in the center of the village, on the 1st floor of the building next door to the proprietors’ winery (Stoecklë). From the living room, we had a view of the village square, and adjoining the kitchen a nice terrace overlooking the courtyard offered a good place to enjoy our morning coffee, although the high stools and table are a bit of a challenge for elderly people. The living room furniture, on the other hand, appeared to have been planned for very short-legged visitors... The kitchen was well equipped (oven, ceramic cooking top, microwave, refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher), and a complimentary bottle of the house Riesling was waiting for us in the fridge... The double bed in the bedroom was very comfortable, and wardrobe facilities adequate. The bathroom had a shower tub and a heated towel rack. Due to the ongoing wine harvest(?), the gîte could not offer a closed parking space, but the street parking was adequate. Before departing after a week’s stay, we payed a visit to the family winery, tasting their excellent wins, and ended up buying 3 cases of assorted Riesling , Gewürztraminer, Pinot Gris and Crémant d’Alsace... The quality/price ratio for our stay was excellent (€327 for one week), and we gladly recommend this gîte to other potential visitors to Alsace!
