I booked this tour for my Husband and I having recently been to Chernobyl, which sparked a general interest in nuclear power, and we wanted to see a working nuclear power plant. We were not disappointed. Our guides were Sarah and Helen, who were very knowledgeable, friendly and enthusiastic, and answered any questions in a non-patronising way. The tour was very well run, security was tight, which is understandable, and the rules were the same as at Chernobyl, that is, you must be completely covered up, bring your passport, any forms must be completed accurately, and do as you are told. I am so glad we did this tour as it was really interesting. I wish we had arrived earlier so we could have taken more time in the Visitor Centre which was also informative and well presented. We were lucky enough to see the top of the reactor, and the training room which is an exact copy of the Control Room used to train people before they are allowed to do it for real. A really enjoyable afternoon.

Shepherd Neame Visitor Centre & Brewery Tour

Take a look behind the scenes at Shepherd Neame – Britain’s oldest brewer. You guide will take you through the heart of the brewery so you can see the traditional mash tuns; taste natural mineral water from the brewery’s well; try some malted barley; smell locally-grown Kentish hops; see bygone delivery vehicles and step into a recreated cooper’s workshop. Finally there’s a fascinating tutored tasting of Shepherd Neame’s Kentish ales and speciality lagers. Tours run most days - advance booking is strongly recommended and you should allow 2 hours for your visit

The Hever Castle Golf Club experience is a blend of a terrific golf course in a wonderful part of Kent. The view from the 12 tee, a slight downhill par three, is similar in many ways to the view of the par three 12th hole at Augusta National. Go play Hever Castle GC today….and tomorrow, if you have time!

Loved this Hornby visitor centre. Great value for money and loads to see. Wished we had some children with us to share the fun. Husband is enthused about taking up model making again after chatting to some modellers who were showing there today.
