We attended the one of the family history sessions at the Carnegie Heritage Centre whilst on annual leave from work as it was the only way to further our research. It is difficult when you work full time as all the sessions are during the day. We knew that they held local family history sessions on Tuesdays and Fridays when members of the public can access the society’s records and facilities. You can also pick the knowledge of experts from the local history societies and you can access Ancestry online for free. You just pay any printing/photocopying costs. There are boxes full of records of Hull’s old churches and schools which we wanted to look at. We were hoping for a ‘eureka’ moment but sadly not on this occasion! We spent an interesting couple of hours there though. Sadly our time was cut short as they were expecting a school trip to visit and we were asked to finish up by 1pm. It is a beautiful building both inside and out so well worth a visit!

The East Riding Treasure House is a heritage centre providing museum, library and archive facilities under one roof, plus access to the adjoining Edwardian exhibition spaces of the Beverley Art Gallery. The Treasure House tower provides splendid views over the rooftops of Beverley.
Stepping into this library was a blast from the past the building is very traditional and they have a separate room for children which was wonderful. We attend the tiny treasures group with our 1 year old and it's fantastic. Staff are great for helping you find the right book and the machines are so easy to use.

We would like to welcome your coach and passengers to Beverley... our market town which has beauty in abundance. With an awe-inspiring Minster, historical buildings, fantastic designer and independent shops, buzzing Saturday Market and vast selection of restaurants, cafes, delis, bars and pubs, your passengers are invited to wander the picturesque streets and enjoy their time with us. To make the experience memorable and kind on the pocket we have introduced a coach campaign specific to Beverley.
Have visited Beverley before on a day trip and used the Tourist Information on that occasion and was very impressed. Having a few days there this time I visited again and have to say that the service, friendliness and knowledge of the staff is some of the best that I have experienced in the country. They really do know what to do and see and although they don't need to, refer to leaflets which they point out to you showing what options are available to you in your time there. They also note down things that you may need such as telephone numbers and opening times and tell you of things that are happening in the area that you would not discover by chance. The Town Trail leaflet was a particular hit and ensured that you saw all the points of interest in the town. Excellent service once again!

More accessible now to the general public than when I studied at the university (grad. 2012), which I think is lovely. Cafe now accessible, as well as some of the meeting rooms and a gallery on the ground floor. Above there for the students and others granted permission, there is a great selection of books and journals, with better and better views as you make your way up until you reach the 8th and top floor, from which you can see most of the city. Most people can get a pass for the library, with some cost associated for certain groups.

The Welcome Information Centre is based at the front of Hull Paragon Interchange and we serve visitors to the city and local residents with up-to-date information on events, exhibitions, tours and trails within the region.
This information centre is so well located in the foyer of the Railway/Bus Interchange and bristling with leaflets galore on the City and area around Hull. With staff who are helpful and efficient.

Such a pleasant change to come into a TIC and have the staff come out of their way to welcome you to the town, and ask you what you wanted to do, and then gave you excellent advice on how to achieve it. The lady here was on her own, but took time and trouble to recommend things to us to make the most of our visit. We were provided with appropriate and well written maps and leaflets too on all the places we showed interest of. As it turned out we followed her advice and caught a bus into Old Bridlington, and had a superb afternoon. The following day, again following her suggestion, we visited Sewerby Hall and this too was first class. So the TIC here we really felt deserved an excellent rating. If I have any recommendation it would be to ensure the Centre has more adequate signage in the town to lead you there as we had to ask passers by to be directed to it, although it's easy to find it if you know it's right on the prom.
