Unassuming Brussels is the capital of Belgium, Flanders and Europe. Medieval Grand-Place, is indeed grand, with many 17th-century buildings and daily flower markets. Reopened in 2006, the Atomium, Brussels' Eiffel Tower, provides great views, inside and out. Architecture fans should visit Musee Horta, home of Belgian master architect Victor Horta. St. Gery's clubs and bars are packed year-round. Seafood eateries abound in Ste. Catherine. Walk, rather than get snarled up in traffic, in the narrow streets.

KBR is the national scientific library and collects all Belgian publications. The institution preserves, manages and studies more than 8 million documents, a rich cultural and historical heritage. KBR provides access to all information in its collections, facilitates research and offers a broad cultural experience. We have a lot to offer, more than ‘just books’. That is why today, the Royal Library of Belgium becomes KBR. A unique and inspiring place with a wealth of outstanding knowledge – all protected and made accessible for you.
Excellent museum at the Royal Library of Belgium. Over roughly three floors, this small museum focuses on manuscripts from the Dukes of Burgundy collected during the Middle Ages. Really fascinating stuff. You learn how manuscripts are made and the detailed and intricate labor required to make one. Then you are presented with numerous wonderful manuscripts on display covering society during this medieval period, many focused on religion, but also some on chivalry, tales, general life, etc. All beautiful works of art. Excellent English throughout the museum, telling the story and describing in detail what you're looking at. Interactive, as well - you get a wrist band that you can touch on one of the many screens to bring up in even more detail in your chosen language information about the item you are viewing. The museum is warm and welcoming, especially on a rainy day. Bathrooms and obligatory giftshop on site. Recommended for both lovers of books and history in general.

Do you have time? Long lazy hours in front of you? Nothing more peacefully joyful than spending time in the Waterstone English book store of Brussels. From latest literary prizes, to children and teens literature, science popular or elevated, school books and didactic materials, newspapers and gossip magazines, poetry, classics and moderns. They are all represented. You name your interest and Waterstone will have what you need. Staff is also helpful, they read as well so their advice is knowledgeable. You can exchange your likes and dislikes in a intellectually bubbly atmosphere. The fidelity card actually translates in tangible perks on regular basis. And if once you don’t feel like reading never mind - all the British goodies like shortbread cookies and filled egg are there for the pleasure of the mouth.

The Botanique has become a cultural Centre since 1984. Formally, it was a Botanique garden, with gorgious greenhouses. Nowadays, it still show its wonderful architecture, together with up-to-date concert venues (Orangerie, Rotonde, Witloof Bar ...). Discover our many concerts over the year through our website or visit our galery called Museum, with its 4 or 5 big exhibitions a year (photography, paintings, ...).
I had a great night in The botanique! I went to see Sein Kuti. The concert was great, the location and the venue is very nice. The park around the building looks great to.
