Turkey (Turkish: Türkiye [ˈtyɾcije]), officially the Republic of Turkey (Turkish: Türkiye Cumhuriyeti [ˈtyɾcije d͡ʒumˈhuɾijeti] ( listen)), is a transcontinental country in Eurasia, mainly in Anatolia in Western Asia, with a smaller portion on the Balkan peninsula in Southeast Europe. Turkey is bordered by eight countries with Greece and Bulgaria to the northwest; Georgia to the northeast; Armenia, the Azerbaijan and Iran to the east; and Iraq and Syria to the south. The country is encircled by seas on three sides with the Aegean Sea to the west, the Black Sea to the north, and the Mediterranean Sea to the south. The Bosphorus, the Sea of Marmara, and the Dardanelles, which together form the Turkish Straits, divide Thrace and Anatolia and separate Europe and Asia. Ankara is the capital while Istanbul is the country's largest city and main cultural and commercial centre, classified as a leading global city.

Riding the tramway from one end to the other provides an enjoyable way of getting an overview of the city, passing by distinguished sites such as Hadrian Gate, Clock Tower and a distinctive minaret.
There are 2 team systems in Antalya, an ultra modern one that connects the town with the Mall of Antalya / Airport / Expo centre, and this traditional one that runs from the old town down towards the beach area. It is a scenic and serene way to get about. Also in the heat of the day it is more comfortable than being in the blazing sun!

Bursa Teleferik has developed a “Special Travelling Experience” plot combining ecological transportation enriched with the pleasures offered at the stations and an observation journey. The lift line positioned within the nature delicately and the architecture of 4 separate stations offers comfort and entertainment to the guests. The stores of various brands located in the stations form a packed activity center. The lifts and stations of Bursa Teleferik Co. create a tremendous impression in the international arena as well and aim to be one of the most glorious tourism areas of Turkey and the world.

The trip only took a minute or so (it's driverless) but saves a long steep walk. The cost is only a few Turkish Lira (we used an Istanbul travel card) and takes you straight to the tram stop at Kabata where it travels to the Sultanhamet area to visit Topkapi, Blue Mosque etc. Most convenient.

I could hardly imagine a calm rural place which has gathered the views of bay, jungle, and mountain together; but after visiting the “Teleferik” of Izmir I learned that impossible is impossible. The gondola line is inside the range of Izmir public transportation, and it is very easy to reach there (by subway and bus). The gondola ride is neither long nor expensive, but it offers the fantastic 360 degree of natural views in a rather short ride from the city. I recommend walking in the park at the top of the “Teleferik”, and making fantastic photos.

This is the only Teleferik in the north coast of Turkey. Nice and long enough to see the city. We go there in the night and it was wonderful.
