Churwell Woodland Railway is a community enrerprise based in Clark Spring and Daffil Woods. The train runs on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month 2-4pm between April and October. It is also used for school trips and youth groups on request.Tickets cost 50p per trip. The Station Cafe is open on operating days selling light refreshments. This is a lovey place to visit with children. The people who run it are all volunteers and they do an amazing job it really is a fantastic hidden gem. It’s great to have on our doorstep and I would definitely recommend a visit. There is also a lovely woodland walk which they have worked hard to clear paths and make it easier to walk through and there are even a few quirky little wood carvings scattered around.

Thank you so much to the driver who was so helpful in getting us back at a reasonable time after Ed Sheeran on Friday night. He went above and beyond and was such a lovely man. We cannot thank him enough. Despite grid locked roads we were home by 11pm. Thank you again.

Pleasant short cheap and convenient way of getting from near Leeds Rail Station to Leeds Dock for The Armouries or The Discovery Centre museum. The boarding point is as shown on the Tripadvisor map, i.e. by Canal Wharf and not at Granary Wharf which the Water Taxi website refers to and which Google Maps shows as being on the opposite bank, fortunately not very far away if you mistakenly go there first, as we did!
