I have visited Norway just before the start of pandemic Covid-19 spreading. Unfortunaly, I didn' t have during my stay in Norway any walking tours in one of the most popular Norwegian historical cities - Bergen. Suddenly I discovered that one of Bergen tourist agencies suggests virtual online walking tours. It was so nice. International tourism is almost died now. Live online tour was a discovery for me. I was sitting with my smartphone at home enjoying stories of my local guide Ole, who was doing the real tour for me in the center of old Bergen passing with his camera medieval quarters. Tour was shorter than standard real tours. For me 1 hour was enough both for getting historical information and for the shopping at the end of the tour. My trophy became 3 magnets, a cup and 10 cans of blue berry in capsules that help to encrease immune system. Ole sent me them with DHL. My recommendations!

Great fjordcruise from Bergen city. A full day of relaxation and lovely nature, beautiful fjords, mountains, waterfalls. Nice boat, nice crew, and this fjord is probably the best option for a daytrip in Bergen. We were a family of 8, and everybody enjoyed the cruise. Captain had some bottles of wine, coffee, tea, snacks, bottled water, all very well arranged.

We initially though to rent some kayaks, but don't have so much experience so we booked onto the 7 sisters tour to take advantage of having a local guide show us around and we were not disappointed. The kayak center is right in town just a minutes walk from the tourist info office - handy. We met our very personable guide who gave us some simple clear tips to make the paddling easy. The boats and paddle gear were in good shape - very stable double kayaks which was perfect for our family group (couple of teenagers). Plenty of time on the tour for photos and getting the detailed histories of the fjord farms. Amazing where people used to live on these cliffs tops above our paddle route. Recommend taking a guided tour. Our guide had great humor keeping us entertained, and we got many tips to keep us safe and make the paddling easier. The kids loved it, with our oldest boy saying afterwards that he wanted to be a kayak guide... kids! Geiranger kayak center also have a shorter tour if you're tight on time or not so fit. We really enjoyed the tour. A great activity which we'll remember.

This trip will take you on one of Norway’s most popular and spectacular hikes. It is for good reason that this hike has gained its popularity with visitors to Norway and locals alike. Situated only a few hours from Stavanger, Pulpit Rock - or Preikestolen in Norwegian - is a towering cliff-plateau directly suspended over Lysefjorden. To stand (or sit) so close to the edge is probably the moment that hikers look forward to the most, although it is no easy deed. The top offers unobstructed views over the meandering blue fjord that was formed by the glaciers during the last Ice Age, making it a good spot to enjoy a photo session and possibly a light snack.

Our trip was guided by Hege, who was very insightful and courteous. For this winter hike we were three in total including Hege. The whole trail was covered in snow and was simply breathtaking. Added bonus of being the only ones at the Pulpit rock. The trip was well co-ordinated. I was picked up at around 7 am as promised, and we reached the starting point around 8:30am. We completed the full hike by 1 pm. Spent some time on the top just watching the fjord and the mountains. Also atop we were greeted by snowing! I had also rented some hiking gear from Lysenfjord Adventures and found them to be great and VFM. If you plan to hike the rock in next to nil crowd but okay with not actually standing or sitting on the edge (as the snow cover makes that difficult and unsafe) then a winter hike is amazing! The email response of the team was also very fast and I was able to complete my booking in no time.

The fjord adventure would be incomplete without a guided trip to Kjerag bolt. The five cubic meter glacial deposit is mysteriously suspended between two rocks, with the location being a world of its own. It inspires to humbleness and gratitude for having been allowed the privilege to experience nature in its utmost purity, from the top of the world. Standing on the boulder itself is not for the faint of heart and visitors to Kjerag should be reminded that what this place has to offer is more than just an impressive boulder. Chances are you will be in awe of nature’s unmistakable beauty the entire trip, culminating with the breathtaking vistas over the Lysefjord. BASE jumpers challenge their limits on a regular basis from this majestic location and visitors may get the chance to see the “flying” daredevils in action.

I booked the trip to Pulpit Rock through Lysefjorden Adventures on 17th March 2021, and my guide for the trip was Hege Wikbo. I was greeted at my hotel in Sola at 07:00am and transported by mini bus directly to Preikestolen, which took around 45 minutes. I was lucky enough to be the only person on the tour that day, so I had my tour guide to myself for the whole duration, and she was able to pass on her local knowledge in abundance. I couldn’t have chosen a better day for the tour as the weather was fantastic, with clear blue skies and the sun shining, plus, Hege and I were the only people to be seen for miles! Around half way up we encountered snow and ice, but thankfully Hege had brought some crampons for us both to use, and this made the hike so much easier without the worry of slipping over. After a steady hike of around an hour and a half, we made it to Pulpit Rock, and I was not disappointed. The views were amazing, and most importantly to me, I had the whole place to myself as nobody else was there. I added the photo package (200.00 NOK) to the tour, and Hege was able to take some amazing photos of me with Pulpit Rock to myself. I spent around 30 minutes at Pulpit Rock enjoying the views, then we make our way back down to the starting position, and made our way back to my hotel for lunch time. Overall, I had a fantastic morning with a fantastic guide, and this made my trip to Norway complete! Many thanks!

Would thoroughly recommend this tour. We were trying to decide between this one and Norway in a nutshell but we’re relieved we chose this one. The waterfall absolutely was beautiful and the viewpoint shouldn’t be missed! The fjord cruise was absolutely amazing, it’s environmentally friendly and so so quiet, you glide across the water. The van was very comfortable and the driver very knowledgeable. We definitely recommended this to anyone visiting southern Norway - highlight of our trip. Also there’s usb charging on the boat and van.
