The first section of the hike travels through the forest of the mountain, allowing you to enjoy a nice meditative walk for 600 meters in the midst of indigenous plants and trees. The hike then continues to a section where you can enjoy magnificent views towards Port Louis and other peaks of the Moka range. Following 700 meters you will reach the shoulder of the mountain, at an altitude of 736 meters. This section is basically a large slightly inclined grassy land, providing amazing views towards the south and northeastern part of Mauritius. The hike continues to the peak. The last part towards the summit requires some rock scrambling. Once you arrive to the summit, be rewarded with an incredible 360-degree panoramic view. Whilst on the summit you are given enough time to relax and receive more information about your surroundings. Make your way back to the meeting point with your professional mountaineer ensuring your security the entire way.

This river trek is one which includes all the activities you would dream of on a day out in nature. From walking in the woods, climbing slopes, swimming in natural pools, being massaged in jacuzzis, drooling on majestic views and finding hidden treasures of nature, we did it all. Kevin was the right person to guide me throughout this superb trek. His friendly and composed character made the experience even more pleasant, grounding and smooth despite the challenge. Dreaming of this little island now that I'm all cooped up with shelter in place. Probably our best day in Mauritius with tons of beach time, lunch and drinks provided and seamless pickup at our hotel.

Pick up upon our arrival went smoothly. The driver was on time and safe. The return, however, was a different story and not a way we wanted our lovely holiday to end. We requested a pick up that would have us at the airport two hours before our scheduled departure. We received word, after the driver was already 20 minutes late picking us up, that our driver would arrive momentarily, so we waited. And we waited, and we waited some more. Our hotel called the driver and was told he was in an accident and that a new driver would be arriving soon. This wasn't true as the original driver FINALLY showed up one hour and ten minutes late to take us to the airport. Again, our amazing hotel called the airlines and told them we were on our way. The airlines said they'd keep the desk open 15 minutes late for us (and they did). We literally JUST made our flight. It was an anxiety-filled, nerve-wracking and very upsetting one hour ride to the airport. The worst part is that there was no explanation from the driver or from John at Mauritius Booking as to why he was late and why they didn't inform us earlier, so that we could have used the hotel airport service or called a taxi. We paid in advance, but I would have paid another service for peace of mind. I don't like giving such a low rating, but the communication after this debacle was non-existent and frankly very, very disappointing.
