My husband is an avid fisher so I booked Cameron Adventures to take us out for his birthday. Caleb was our guide for the day, he was friendly, laid back and put us all at ease- his experience and knowledge were apparent through observation of his technique and understanding of the local area. The water was choppy with some decent sized swells but we were comfortable inside the heated cabin. The 4 of us had a great day and ended up catching quite a few rock fish. If your in the area definitely book with Cameron Adventures- we will be back!

3 Hour Tour ~ The sheltered waters of the Ucluelet harbour offer an ideal location for an introduction to sea kayaking. Our tours depart from the beach at our Vancouver Island kayaking centre. There are many options for this tour, we may paddle up to a beautiful hidden waterfall, experience and learn about the local fish hatchery, or explore the outer harbour limits. The harbour is full of wildlife; watch for black bears along the shoreline, rich intertidal life beneath your kayak and eagles circling overhead. Harbour seals pop their heads up to watch us paddle by and sea lions bark to us from the fishing docks along the water’s edge. Historic old pre-wartime houses, big steel fishing boats and old wooden trollers tell the story of this quaint fishing village. Ucluelet is one of the most accessible ports on the west coast of Vancouver Island where you can experience the geography, the rich sea life and wildlife, and have an excellent paddling opportunity.

Inclusions: 1/2 hr instruction and 2 1/2 hrs on the water., Top of the line Kayak Equipment, PFD, paddling jacket, neoprene booties, gloves, dry bags for your camera, A snack and water bottle, Certified Guide Instructors

Our guide Eric was amazing. He was clear in explaining how to navigate the kayak from getting in, to getting out to steering and stopping. He took us on a guided tour trying to take us to places where we could see some wildlife. He was knowledgeable and engaging. There were four of us, all beginners and all nervous but his experience and expertise calmed our fears and made it an extremely wonderful adventure.

I recently hired this charter in August 2020 in Ucluelet. We had a family vacation planned with the in laws and their kids. My wife and I had been on numerous charters/fishing trips over the last 10 years and know whats involved on a day out on the ocean. We wanted to take my father in law on a day of ocean fishing. I was a bit weary because the seas can be to much for some people and my father-in-law just turned 70. We also invited my sister in law who has never fished other than on the banks of a river. We had fished with other guides in the area but we wanted to try someone new! I randomly chose Al's boat- Knot to Wild. Seemed like a very experienced fisherman/guide with a nice boat. Al was a very good guide. His boat had all of the high end Sonar and Navionics. His boat even has auto pilot. He is a very professional and experienced guide. I would definitely recommend his charter. We ended up getting a bunch of different species of fish. in one 8 hour charter we caught a 20 lb ling cod, our limit of Halibut, including 1 that we guessed weighed around 60 lbs! probably the biggest fish i've seen from the ocean! We also caught a whole bunch of wild coho(maybe 10) and a few hatchery coho that we could keep. Unfortunately only 1 chinook in the boat that day but it would be called catching not fishing if it was that easy. Al cleaned our fish and we got it processed day of - which I highly recommend Fishfull Thinking for the processing vacuum sealing etc. well worth the cost. In conclusion, I would personally recommend his boat to my friends and family for future trips. Safe, productive, reliable and responsible.
