Kahuna Whale Watching

Join us aboard the meticulously maintained 50-foot Kahuna. Venture out into the spectacular waters of the infamous Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary, home of the Monterey Submarine Canyon. The Kahuna departs from Moss Landing, located in the heart of the Monterey Bay, where the tip of the Monterey Submarine Canyon stretches close to shore. The canyon is a hotspot for marine activity, so we are quickly accompanied by charismatic creatures right outside the harbor. Sightings are dependent on the time of year you choose to embark although anything is possible in the mysterious big blue. We have also been seeing lots of change in the ocean recently. This is a list of species we typically see during the year: *April-November Humpbacks, Blues, Orcas *December-April Gray Whale migration *Year Round Dolphin, Porpoise, sea lions, California sea otters, harbor seal, and a wide variety of marine birds All cruises are led by an onboard marine biologist to interpret the sighting and answer any questions. Our experienced Captain will expertly navigate from Moss Landing out to the open ocean. The Captain and crew will do all they can to get the best sightings possible, while honoring marine mammal laws. The Kahuna and crew are fully licensed and insured for your safety. We make sure that there is plenty of space aboard so that no one has to fight for good viewings. Our goal is to provide an enjoyable and unforgettable experience for our passengers. Please be advised that our weather fluctuates and trips maybe subject to cancellation. We highly recommend you dress in layers and take medication if you are prone to seasickness to fully enjoy the excursion. Make sure to bring a camera to capture these majestic animals.
