Visiting our farm means exploring a historical reality of the Tuscan Maremma, a traditional family farm - which today has been able to transform itself into a 4.0 company based on the concept of circular economy. A journey between tradition and innovation. The route of the guided tour shows the entire sustainable supply chain of the company: from agriculture for the production of buffalo feed to cattle breeding in large outdoor fenced areas; from the production of milk to its transformation into cheese in the company dairy; from the use of agricultural waste to produce renewable energy in a biogas plant to reuse the process residue as an organic fertilizer.
Inclusions: Tasting of buffalo milk cheeses accompanied by salami from other local companies, water, Tuscan bread and a glass of wine.

I had seen this farm highlighted in a television special in Australia about very well educated children who are leaving well paid jobs in the cities, eg in finance, law etc, to return to the family farms and introduce innovative techniques and new products to try and bring them into the 21st century. In this instance from memory the farm already had buffalo but the son convinced the parents to employ a very experienced mozzarella cheese maker/s from Compania (the home of buffalo mozzarella) and to install a totally new and very modern cheese making production facility. Judging from what we saw and what we tasted, this is a success. The shop (a very unassuming orange brick building standing on its own in the middle of the fields) is located within the farm on the flat plains of the Maremanna, less than 10 kilometres from the coast and the Tyrrenian Sea, and only a couple of kilometres from a military airbase (the noise was deafening as the jets took off and landed and we wondered whether this adversely impacted the buffalo - no they have been here for a few decades and are used to it). The building containing the shop front also housed the cheese making production facility which you could see through a glass window. A very pleasant young lady gave us a taste of the mozzarella (delicious) and explained what cheeses were on offer which included buffalo ricotta, burrata plus a number of others. They also had a range of buffalo milk yoghurts and buffalo meat products plus several other local farm products. We had 2 buffalo milk cappuccinos, purchased a number of different cheese products and left with change out of €20. There was a machine there that issued numbers so that the people serving know who is next in line so I am assuming it can get very busy. Worth a visit if staying locally but would not travel far to purchase goods. We did not do the farm tour.

We booked a wine tour for half a day only the night before and received the confirmation following morning! The driver picked us up at our place in Siena with a very nice and comfortable car. Our driver was Roberto, who spoke very well English and is a very funny and nice guy! He could answer all our questions on Italian cuisine and culture in a very passionate way. The wineries we visited were as authentic as you could imagine and they let us try all their best wines! We had an amazing afternoon and wished we’d booked for the entire day. Wedriveyou.it is highly recommended by us and make sure you ask for Roberto!

Everyone knows Florence, Chianti region, Siena, but have you ever heard of Maremma? We are talking about the coastal area of south-western Tuscany, stretching between the cities of Livorno and Grosseto. This land has been constantly flourishing in the last years, becoming a must when you visit Tuscany: here you can find the perfect combination between human presence and still uncontaminated and wild nature. Thanks to its particular hot, sunny and windy microclimate and to its position close to the coast, wines from this region are something different in the Tuscan panorama, even if grapes cultivation here started many centuries ago. Visit the two most important Maremma wineries, known for their modern design: Rocca di Frassinello and Le Mortelle. Tasting of 3 innovative wines at Rocca di Frassinello owned by Panerai then proceed to Antinori’s Mortelle designed from Renzo Piano, taste their food paired with 4 of their top wines.
Inclusions: Bottled water, 3-course lunch, All activities, Driver/guide, Live commentary on board, Tour escort/host, Private tour, Alcoholic Beverages

What an amazing day! It started with truffle hunting with Roberto and his two dogs - Ori and Chloe! We learned a lot about truffle hunting and how the dogs are trained. Chloe was 'in training' and it was fun to see how Roberto used both dogs. They found about 12 truffles in all of various sizes! Then we headed to a small family winery where we ate the fruits of our labor!!! We had a 4 course 'absolutely delicious' meal, tasted a lot of great wines, in addition to olive oil and honey! We even bought a bottle of wine to take with us and watched Sylvia add the DOCG label by hand (which are closely tracked by the region)! We had a great tour guide, Paelo, with us the entire day! He picked us us at our farmhouse, was our translator when needed, was very courteous and informative! I would highly recommend this very unique experience! And I would recommend Tuscany Private Tours. They were very easy to communicate with and very responsive!

Castiglione della Pescaia is a fortified village overlooking the sea, a balcony overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea. From here you can enjoy a panorama of rare beauty, among the most "rich and sweet in the Maremma". The view ranges from the Uccellina mountains to the heights of Punta Ala, from the coast drawn between the intense green of the pine forest and the blue of the sea; below, in the plateau (ancient kingdom of Lago Prile), the marsh of the Diaccia Botrona stretches out, with the elegant and evocative Red House in the foreground, one of the most representative examples of civil engineering that recalls the impressive reclamation work desired and built under the Lorraine. The well-preserved village has exposed stone streets, ancient portals, niches and arcades that chase each other ... all enclosed by mighty turreted walls. Castiglione della Pescaia is one of the most efficient tourist resorts of the Tyrrhenian Sea and in its canal port cradled fishermen's boats and "habituès" boats.
Inclusions: Professional and certified tourist and environmental guide.
Exclusions: Transportation to reach the starting point of the excursions.

We booked a Localgrapher for a couples shoot in Arizona. The results were okay at best, and we regretted not seeking out an established local in the area. For the price, we received 60 very average choices and the ability to select 35 shots. We couldn’t even find 35 framed correctly. The localgrapher website is also a joke which requires a youtube video to figure out. The UI is terrible and the photos will disappear rapidly so do not wait to download (set aside a couple hours - that’s how bad it is). But really, just avoid. Hire someone directly.
