St. John’s vibrant main town and port, Cruz Bay is home to most of the 28-square-mile island’s restaurants, bars, stores and dive centers. Two-thirds of affluent St. John is a national park, and many safari buses and jeeps set out from Cruz Bay. Don’t miss local art and history at Elaine Ione Sprauve Museum or the pristine sand of Hawksnest Bay, popular with snorkelers due to its nearby reef. There is no airport; ferries connect the town of 2750 with other U.S. and British Virgin Islands.

Hibiscus at StarFish Tours helped us arrange a very lastminute half-day private tour with a local driver, Douglas. We appreciate all the assistance, recommendations, and follow-up she provided as we were able to visit the National Park Visitor Center, Trunk Bay, Maho Beach, and the Annaberg Plantation Windmill the day before leaving the island. Douglas was very informative, accommodating, and professional and we essentially customized and made for a hop on/hop off tour.

WOW! What a great way to spend an evening. My wife and I along with two other couples took the Sunset Sail. We couldn't have been more impressed. I was a little skeptical when I found their perfect five star review rating until we seen first hand what an amazing job Rob and Deb do. From the time we arrived until the time we stepped off the boat they made sure we were both safe and having fun. This crew is very personable and willing to engage in conversation or just let you enjoy the sail and sunset. Speaking of sailing, that's my new favorite thing. I had know idea how fun and relaxing sailing was. CPT Rob was happy to explain how the sailboat operated and would even let us work some of the components. Deb was always checking drinks and offering snacks, and was happy to take pictures for us. I can't recommend this team enough. Not only do I have a new love of sailing but I feel lucky to have met such a cool couple.

This was the best money I have spent on vacation!! Definitely do the whole day trip and make sure to bring lots of sunscreen. We had a group of 12 on the catamaran and our crew made sure all of our accommodations were met and more! We got to visit other beautiful islands and they took us to the best spots for snorkeling where we were able to see lots of sea life. Captain Splash and first mate Osay were absolutely outstanding and made sure we had the time of our life. Our first mate gave many tips and fun facts about the island, landmarks, and history which was very interesting, and also made sure we always had a drink in our hand and a smile on our face. I would definitely recommend booking with seas the day and will absolutely be back again!!

My husband and I booked the sunset charter this past week and had a wonderful time. The trip was awesome! The boat was spacious and super clean. Our captain, Ryan, did a great job finding out what we wanted out of our trip and then suggesting some great spots for snorkeling, dinner, and watching the sunset. We both agreed that it was the highlight of our visit to St. John. We will definitely plan to book another full day charter with Island Roots on our next visit.

I do not write many reviews, but these ladies and gents went above and beyond creating one of the best memories for our family! From the day I called Carrie to reserve, I could tell we were going to have a blast. Even with restraints created by the pandemic and limits on where they could take us, Captain Nate and Alicia were the absolute BEST and took us to some of the most remote places to snorkel, float, and simply watch our teenagers flying off the back of the boat several times in a row. Captain Nate took on some of the rougher waters like a champ, to get as to these remote spots, we couldn't even tell. Ride was smooth as silk...They greeted us with fruit plates, delicious breakfast treats, snacks throughout the day and had every single request we made ie Root Beer for my nephew and lemonade for my son and niece available to us on the boat. Just bring yourselves because they had warm beach towels always folded and ready for you when you got out of the water and snorkeling gear and floats when you jumped in. Alicia even jumped in and showed us/interacted with the water life. Service was Top Shelf! We will be back, same boat, same captain and crew next year. An absolute must if you are down in St Thomas! Thank you Sonic!
