We had the most amazing time with Luis and his daughter Maria! They picked us up from our hotel in their air conditioned vehicle and drove us to their beautiful smaller ranch to meet the horses. They provided cool beverages and snacks from the beautiful grocery on the way. Then we met the horses and learned a bit about the history of the Paso Fino horses. We also got to see how the baby Paso Finos are born with their distinctive gaits - they’re so cute!!! We then were driven to the beautiful Manzanillo beach where we had a cool beverage at the beautiful Melía hotel. Then, the adventure began! we met our gorgeous horses, Díplomatico and Rafaga, and commenced our ride with Maria down the beach! we are both experienced riders and had the chance to both gallop (on diplomatico) and trocha (the special Paso Fino gait - on Rafaga) on the beach! Luis took a ton of gorgeous photos and videos for us as well. We finished the experience with a delicious lunch at the hotel, which was perfect after a long morning of riding in the sun. Highly recommend this experience for both beginners and advanced riders. Maria and Luis are great at picking the perfect horse for the rider. The beach is gorgeous, the horses are so beautiful and refined and happy, and you can tell they are well loved. Maria and Luis are so kind and lovely as well. Can’t wait for you to come visit us in California Maria! xo

I attended a lunch time cooking class with my mom during our week visit to Cartagena. Our hotel arranged the class so we didn’t know much about the program before hand. Our only request was to cook empanadas. We were greeted at the hotel by Romario and he escorted us to the kitchen which was only a few blocks from the hotel. The kitchen and work space was so lovely and impressive. Lots of light and SO clean and welcoming. The designers definitely thought of everything. We were greeted by Christian and another member of the class and we dove right into it. As we had requested, they made a special change to the menu to honor our ask for empanadas. Romario and Christian were knowledgeable and very interesting to talk to. The recipes were DELICIOUS and not too complex to make back home. We ate as a group and toasted to our successful lunch! I HIGHLY recommend this experience. It was such an added bonus to our amazing time in Cartagena. Look for us in the guest book, such a great way to connect people! Best of luck to the team and hope to see you again soon!!

Recently my Colombian boyfriend and two other couples took a private day trip of the Rosario Islands, Isla Cholon, and Barú. The boat is very clean and wonderfully spacious. The crew was amazing, catering to providing ice, filing our drinks, taking us to really special and private places around the islands, and always wearing a smile! They helped with lunch and the best part: you can hook up your music to the awesome sound system on board. I highly recommend this company as they were safe, responsible, and enjoyable! It was such a wonderful experience we booked the same pilot two days late for another trip to the islands!!!!

I was traveling solo in Cartegena and was so lucky have found Luis's tour company. Luis is a veterinarian who loves Paso Fino horses and is passionate about helping to world to learn more. I was picked up from my hotel by Luis, which was very convenient. The day started with a history lesson at the stables about Paso Fino horses a long with a demonstration and a description of their care. Next, we stopped to get beverages of our choice and Luis even bought a yogurt for the other person in our group since she hadn't eaten breakfast and wanted to make sure she would feel well for the trip. It was just the two of us on the your (she was another solo traveler). Luis drove us to where the horses had already been transported and set-up. There was an additional helper who was carrying water for us and helping with the care of the horses for our trail and beach riding. We had a few choices of what he wanted to see: beach riding, trail riding, or going up a trail to a cliff lookout. At lunchtime, we rode up to a beach front restaurant that served traditional food with a fried whole fist that was one of the best I had eaten during my trip in Columbia. It is a local spot that I would have never gotten to experience if it wasn't for the tour. If you pick the VIP option it pays for use of the pool after the tour and so you stay at the restaurant and get to utilize the pool and other resort amenities. Everyone was very nice ad helpful. I learned so much from Luis and had an incredible time with trail and beach riding. The food was authentic and delicious and the digital photographs and video that I received as souvenirs were frame worthy. Luis even follow-ed up with me after the tour to check on me since I was traveling solo to ensure that I knew of places to go for the rest of my time in Cartegena and I was even able to meet his lovely family. Worth every penny and I will definitely be back. Highly recommend.

Cartagena's rich tradition of music and dance is interwoven into the fabric of life on Colombia's Caribbean coast. As well as sightseeing in the old city, sampling ceviche and cruising through the Rosario Islands, dancing simply must feature in BIG FAT CAPITALS on your holiday hit list. Interacting with Cartagena culture with our feet is a whole lot more satisfying than reading it in a book, that is why, you will get in this tour a combination of dance lessons (so you learn how to hit the dance floor), alcoholic drinks in bars (so you let yourself relax into a more social experience), and the best live salsa music in town in the Salsa House in Cartagena. Known as ¨El Manicomio de la Salsa¨ because is the meeting point for salsa lovers including musicians and dancers.
