Turkey Mountain Preserve / Trail is nothing but dirt walking trails created by people who have never ventured outside of the county to experience real forests.
This place has been destroyed by yuppies who cry anytime the park is utuilized. No hunting, fishing offroading, camping, as it is surrounded by an urban-surburban area.

Teatown Lake Reservation's mission is to inspire our community to lifelong environmental stewardship. We realize our mission through environmental education, stewardship of Teatown's preserve, and regional conservation of the Hudson Hills and Highlands. At the center of all our endeavors is teamwork and partnership, because nature conservation and environmental health are possible only when people and their communities work together for the common good. The Teatown team is made of our members, donors, volunteers, board, staff and program participants. Our successes are only possible because of their hard work and dedication to our mission. In addition, we seek collaborations with other organizations and businesses who share our vision.
Great place for a walk or longer hike Favorite is the Hidden Valley Trail. Many diverse sections that will make your walk entertaining. Beware of some steep elevation changes Plenty of parking and not particularly crowded, this is definitely a local go to place

This 234-acre former estate is known for its fine gardens.
This is an estate bought by the County for the public's enjoyment. Has a veteran's memorial there. Main house is still being remodeled, but the grounds are beautiful, with lots of paths, trails and large lawns on which to picnic or just let kids run around.

First, their fruit is delicious. They have nuts and jams in their store. Little disappointed in the bakery. I thought they would have had more of a selection of baked goods. Mostly pies. Their orchards are confusing. I have been apple picking further upstate New York for thirty years. Most orchards have one variety of apples in one area. This one had different apples in the same row. None of the areas were marked with the kind of apples that are in that area. The rows have ditches in them so be careful. There are also branches with thorns on them to try to avoid that. The ladies in the store were very nice. However, I had a difficult time carrying the bag that they gave me so I used my own and was going to transfer the apples to their bag when I returned to the car. This man on a tractor began to grill me about paying for my apples. If you come across this man and can overlook his rudeness then go for a fun day.

The tri-state area's biggest, most exciting, most electrifying Halloween event features than 5,000 individually hand-carved, illuminated jack o' lanterns in this elaborate walk-through experience. Meander through an historic, 18th-century riverside landscape and discover a breathtaking display - all made of jack o' lanterns! THE GREAT JACK O'LANTERN BLAZE IS TEMPORARILY CLOSED UNTIL SEPTEMBER 28.
We really enjoyed the walk-thru pumpkin blaze! It took us about 45 minutes to walk through with our 1 year old and 3.5 year old! They seemed to enjoy it! Dress warm with hats and gloves as it gets cold; it was about 35 degrees when we went to the 6:30pm time slot on November 12th! Also, get there about 30 minutes early so that you could get the kids in their warm gear! We didn’t use a stroller, but kind of wish we brought one!

Caramoor is a performing arts center located on a unique 90-acre setting of Italianate architecture and gardens in Westchester County, NY. It enriches the lives of its audiences through innovative and diverse musical performances of the highest quality. Its mission also includes mentoring young professional musicians and providing educational programs for young children centered around music. Audiences are invited to come early to explore the beautiful grounds, tour the historic Rosen House, enjoy a pre-concert picnic, and discover beautiful music in the relaxed settings of the Venetian Theater, Spanish Courtyard, Music Room of the Rosen House, and the magnificent gardens.
The house is intriguing, with many of the rooms and their furnishings taken from Italian castles and chateaus and built into the house. Quite incredible. The gardens are lovely as well and the concerts can be exceptional, with a choice of venues to suit the music and the size of the audience,

We went on a busy day, as Grand Prix was having a special event for families with disabled children. I mistakenly booked a reservation for the wrong times, and only realized upon arrival. Carol, the manager at the front desk checked with Mike, the track supervisor, and they accommodated us by opening a track up just for us! That by itself was "above and beyond". To top things off, Mike took my 11 year-old for a few private "lead and follow" rounds to make sure that he understood the safety rules and how to operate the go-kart before we started. Wow.
I would highly recommend Grand Prix as a great place for family fun. They are clean, friendly, and very safety-conscious. In addition to the safety video, Rob reiterated the rules, and got us buckled in with helmets and neck braces.
We all had a great time, and look forwards to going back. They also have an arcade and bowling (we did the arcade, not the bowling) so you can plan to be there for a few hours.

A 1930s theater.
This theater is a throwback to the old movie theaters that existed in my childhood. Extraordinarily beautifully decorated and furnished, large selection of various entertainment venues, large number of seats, a balcony, large public parking, many great restaurants within walking distance to theater. If you want to go to a wonderful theater that would remind you of the 50's and earlier, and not travel to the city, this is the place to go to after attending one of the numerous great restaurants found around the theater. Do not miss.

The food is always good and the service efficient and friendly. You will be pleased whether you order a burger, fish or a hearty Neapolitan specialty. The bar is usually crowded.
The place itself is very rustic and noisy but that adds to the charm. If you are looking for a romantic evening this is not the place. But if you are looking for a good meal or an unpretentious place to have a few drinks then this is the place.

I have been here for years. It's park of a large trail system that keeps growing. You can park off route 129 and go in that way or at route 134 just off route 100. It's a safe well kept trail. It attracts families and bikers. Beautiful area.
