Gulf Harbour Country Club enjoys a reputation as one of the premier golf clubs in New Zealand, with an outstanding championship course. Located on the Whangaparaoa Peninsula, less than an hour’s drive from Auckland’s CBD, it is home to an 18-hole gem designed by the famous course architect Robert Trent Jones Jr. Despite its relatively tender years, the layout of the course has twice played host to the New Zealand Open. Come and enjoy the thrill of playing the spectacular cliff-top course with some fantastic vistas of the Auckland area. The back nine, the 12th hole provides fantastic views looking back towards Auckland city with views all down the North Shore. We have extensive practice facilities allowing golfers to loosen off before playing with a Putting and Chipping Greens, Pitching Green and a 250-metre Driving Range. The clubhouse experience is equally rewarding: the club has a warm, friendly atmosphere ensuring visitors will feel instantly at home.
How many times am I going to golf in New Zealand with my son? This may have been my one chance, so I went for the best place I could find. Add rental clubs to the greens fees for a Friday morning round, and it came in just under $400 us (yikes, but okay). I think kiwis get a much better rate, especially if they are affiliated with club. We LOVED it! We took the ferry from the Auckland viaduct, and the course arranged for our ride to the course. What a cool way to get to the course! The views were insane, and we never had to wait to hit our shots, even though we were a twosome. The rough is crazy. If you hit one wide, don't even bother. Even if you see exactly where it went in, chances are less than 50/50 that you'll find it. Don't worry, though, it's not so hard that you won't have fun. It's great.

The Heritage trail is very nice and passes by a lovely waterfall. Continue on and you will meet up to the Lookout trail (worth doing) and you can walk down to the beach. There’s camping and I bet it gets crowded in summer. It was a beautiful sunny day today, May 30, and perfect for walking. Make sure you get your pic in front of the “frame”.

Step into a futuristic indoor labyrinth filled with smoke, music and lighting effects. Gripping a High-Tech Phasor, prepare yourself for an intense battle of skill and strategy. Caught in the middle of a space-age laser battle, you'll test your courage, stealth, cunning, and stamina by tagging enemy bases, de-energising your opponents and finding your way through the arena.

Stumbled across it by accident but boy what a find. Small, private and great. Lovely for a picnic, swimming or just the views.

The beach can be easily accessed by several paths from the neighborhood. It’s a long sandy beach that is kept very clean. Great place for a long walk or run!

This Marina is in my neighbourhood so I am there frequently whether it is to sit in the sun and watch the world go by or to check out one of the 3 restaurants or have coffee at one of the cafes there. There is also a takeaway fish and chip shop and a very well stock Four Square.
