We enjoyed the humor of the screen and projector showing "Pirates of the Caribbean" in English to anyone who wanted to pause in the parking area in front of the temple. People were sitting on their scooters and on small plastic chairs. I was seriously tempted to join them but I have seen this move so many times.

Shennong Street

Reviewed By Pilar168 - Manila, Philippines

We left our hotel around 6pm, walked down Kangle Street and reached Haian Road in 20 minutes. Haian is the start of the street where Shennong road is. We noticed low raised houses, some undone while some were restructured. Another 5 minute walk is where Shennong Road is located. We turned right first because we found people walking, stopping to take pictures and the red lanterns were so adorable. It gave me a feeling of being in another world outside of the city. When we walked down the narrow street, people, mostly teenagers stop by to take pictures. Obligatory ones seems to be taken from the outside of the houses. They are too charming not to. Craft shops, bags and clothes, souvenir shops, coffee and ice cream shops dominate the street. We stopped to see what they offer. People here seems to be friendly though business must not be that good. Owners are very accommodating and friendly. Yes, Shennong Road gave me a feel of those alleys we used to walk when we visited Osaka. Warm, charming, accommodating place I fell in love with.
