Weil am Rhein is a German town and commune. It is on the east bank of the River Rhine, and close to the point at which the Swiss, French and German borders meet. It is the most southwesterly town in Germany and a suburb of the Swiss city Basel. Weil am Rhein is part of the "trinationale Agglomeration Basel" with about 830,000 inhabitants.

A truly outstanding collection of the history of decorative arts living within a collection of master architect designed buildings. Inconveniently located near nothing really, it's worth a bus and or train ride from Basel. The gigantic slide / tower is epic and the changing exhibitions dedicated to various furniture and graphic designers are always in depth and as much fun as they are scholarly.

We heard of this unique place with a point in the river that is a monument that marks the coincidence of boundaries of 3 countries. We took a train from Basel main train station to the Germany town of Weil am Rhein. We had a delightful buffet lunch at the China Restaurant at Weil am Rhein before walking across the bridge, Passerelle des Trois Pays. Finally we stood before the Rhein admiring it's beauty.
