I’ve literally been driving past the Volo Auto Museum my entire life without ever stopping in. Finally decided to take my two 10 year old boys over for a Saturday afternoon.
Never realized exactly how big the entire place is, there are multiple buildings full of different types of vehicles. A majority of the vehicles displayed are also available for purchase.
Going once is probably enough to say you’ve been there and seen it. Neat place.

We certainly intend to be outfitted correctly for our next visit to take the larger/longer tour! We ran into a fellow who knew the bog so very well and he took us all around and told us about it - what a chance!

This place rocks I sampled omany of their beers and was quite impressed with all of them. Even though the outside looks like a warehouse the inside is really nice with beer inspired tables and large TVs playing the sports game. We visited on a Saturday afternoon and were able to find a seat easily enough. The menu is awesome highlighting their seasonal beers and their mainstays. I also really liked how they highlighted the brewing process on the menu. Not sure if they serve food or not or if you bring your own in. The only thing I could think that they could improve is to put their history on the menu explaining how they got going. I was really impressed and enjoyed my time there I will definitely be visiting again next time I'm in the area.

Watch excellent movies in comfortable seats, among your friends and neighbors (who understand movie etiquette) ... on the cheap! Add Baloney's wonderful sandwiches next door and you have a very special experience. Simply the BEST.

I've been here a few times in my life. This is a great hangout for bar types, bowlers or volleyball aficionados. Indoors is loud and a not well mannered, adult atmosphere. Outside is hard to get a wait staff member to attend to you and subject to the elements. This will be the place I go only if it is the last place open in the area.

Indoor and outdoor dining and drinking, and a beach that children can play on while you eat. The open air beach bar has music on weekends, sometimes good enough that people crowd the dance floor. And the food is exceptionally good...try the bull bites or spicy shrimp for lunch. Also great kiddy menu.

Who knew?
A craft distillery tucked away in suburbia, the Copper Fiddle Distillery is well worth taking the time to discover. Even for a nonwhiskey drinking person like myself, I appreciate the level of devotion and craft that is evident here in the creation of a superb, high-quality product. From the American oak barrels to the craft cocktails at the bar, a quick look around Copper Fiddle Distillery will reveal a hidden gem in the middle of the suburbs.

Lots of people love Independence Grove, which is most apparent on the weekends when the parking lot is full and there are no picnic sites available. Park is sometimes overrun with bicycles, trikes and strollers making it hard to walk and get around. If you like busy parks and crowds, this is for you. If you like quiet and more natural areas, other Lake County Forest Preserves are much more enjoyable.

We try to go walk here as often as possible. There is a good variety of different paths, of different lengths, to walk or ride a bike. In the fall, the autumn colors are gorgeous. There are also a fishing lake, park headquarters building, and picnic areas.

Yes, the auto museum is here too, but the antique mall is worth a few hours itself! If you are looking for something specific, you're likely to find it here. It's great for a bad-weather day, but don't go just to window shop because there's so much, you'll likely find something you'll want to buy. There are several levels, so it's not really stroller or wheelchair friendly though.
