I have seen over years how this place has developed, and never had opportunity to visit in summer. Finally I did it, and evening in beach alone was worth the trip from Latvia. Convenient and well managed, with lots of place for outdoor sports as well as for sitting and enjoying view over the lake. Lots of events every weekend, also small bar to get a drink. Locals love the place and gather there during day and night to spend time together, yet it's not unpleasantly crowded. If you travel by in the summer, definitely visit this place; especially advised for romantic couples.

Church of St Catherine

Construction of the Church of St Catherine in Voru commenced in 1793 during the reign of Empress Catherine II. It is thought to have been designed by the Livonian architect Schons, while the man responsible for the building of the church was Voru's own Johann Karl Otto. The church was surrounded with a formidable fence. It is famous for its cross-shaped floor plan, substantial bell tower, high dome-like secondary tower and arched windows. Designed in classicist style, it was completed in 1804 in honour of St Catherine. The grounds around the church were restored in 2008 and are now home to an open air exhibition of religious text-themed illustrations by artist Marje Ernits.

A great place to the whole family. The main attraction are different exotic birds (an Estonian-speaking parrot amongst them) but there is also room for different animals.
Very helpful staff.
The reason for not giving the whole five star was the comparatively small size of the farm. But the experience is worthy to go!
