We started Performance based on one simple principle: when you book a ski lesson you should be guaranteed a great day on the hill. It might seem obvious, but we saw how hard it was to really guarantee that level of service and expertise in big, traditional ski schools. So we built a small team of really experienced ski instructors who knew our resort inside out. Well, it’s an idea that turned out to be really popular, so we’re sticking to the same, simple formula – a small team of experienced ski instructors who we know and trust completely. So you’re always guaranteed the best possible day on the hill.
I cannot recommend Performance enough. I've had lessons with Adam this week. Not only is he the most amazing teacher (he needs to be to take me)... he is one of the nicest guys that you could ever meet. Very funny and very encouraging. He has the patience of a saint, but also gave me the kick up the bum that I needed. Look no further than Performance if you want to learn or improve your skiing.

Highly recommend! It was my first time skiing and JC was so helpful and instructive! He kept the lessons challenging whilst making sure to explain everything carefully & clearly. In just 2 hours I was confident enough to go down a blue slope, & after 4 hours I am completely hooked on the sport! Anyone looking to learn how to ski should definitely request JC! Thank you SO much JC, for the very best first-time skiing experience I could ask for!! Renee

Altitude Ski and Snowboard School is an established business in Verbier, Switzerland operating since 2001. We offer private and group lessons in over 10 different languages for those from 2 years old. We also have a private kids garden, buses and a specialist team for our smallest clients and Performance Clinics for the experts!
Great season on the Altitude Futures work and train ISIA course. Brilliant coaches with Sammy and Alex leading the training program catering for all and they really developed my skiing well beyond what I originally expected for taking the BASI level 3 exams at the end of the season. Awesome group of people around and plenty of support throughout with COVID and Brexit happening too. Can’t wait to be back in Verbier next season to hopefully carry on with the Altitude team.

We want to take your skiing to the next level. It's that simple. Element is a unique Ski School in Verbier with a focus on quality and on making sure our clients have the best possible time on the mountain. The team is deliberately small - a hand-picked group of the very best, most experienced ski instructors. We offer Private Ski Lessons, Off Piste Lessons, Women's Camps and Ski Instructor Training Programmes. And we'd love to hear from you.
As a group of complete beginners, we have skied with 4 different instructors from Element so far. Each individual instructor had their own teaching style, but all brought learnings that complemented our continued improvement overall. Will, Guy, Jack and Tom all put us at ease and were great fun to work with! Emma & Lucy were also great with helping us book or amend lessons. They were flexible, friendly, client-centric: can definitely recommend the team! (In fact I did actually recommend them and brought some additional friends to book with the school since our first lessons). Thanks Team Element, keep up the good work!

I spent an awesome day with André who initiated me in the art of splitboarding and riding powder! He has tons of experience and knows the Verbier area like the back of his hand. André proposed an amazing touring trip including descents through the woods in powder. He was super patient, gave excellent advice to improve my off-piste riding, and answered all the questions I had related to technique, gear and safety. So if you're bored with the lift queues and crowds, give splitboarding a try! The Independent School in Verbier is definitely the best place to start!

We were visiting Verbier over the Christmas/NYE holiday time. We diverted to Bruson one day since the Médran lift up at Verbier had an hour long wait. Bruson was busy too but we ended up loving the runs. Just wish there was more than one chair lift at Bruson.

Some might say we are biased since Verbier is our home resort - but it is our home resort precisely because it is amazing. Best terrain, off-piste, snow conditions, mountain restaurants, atmosphere in the Alps. And at the end of the day, the shabby chic, mountain village turned lux ski resort that is Verbier. We love to call it home, and think you will like to call it home from home for your next ski holiday.
