There are so many weird and wonderful objects in small towns and Vegreville’s giant Pysanka is worth a short detour off the highway to see. Be sure to read the signage for the symbolism of the different shapes on the egg.

We first saw the elk, surrounded by flowers. It was not a real elk. We saw an old train as well and lots of picnic tables and lots of trees. There was a shelter and a stained glass window. The pond was gorgeous! Worthwhile to see!

Come stroll through Vegreville's Downtown and view our living heritage. Vegreville's architectural downtown is one of the best examples in the province. The completed street scape look includes: buildings, historical style lamp posts, brightly colored banners and historical sidewalk plaques dating back to 1905.
