Tungareshwar is located at Vasai. One has to hire some vehicle or take a bus to reach this destination. There is approx 1-2hrs of trek to reach the temple. The forest is wide, dense & safe. The best time to visit is during Monsoons. But one has to be careful as the steps are sometimes slippery. There is also a waterfall on top. One can buy tea, coffee & other food items in between.

You can reach here by Auto or bus, the bus will drop you till down gate near the highway from there you have to climb upwards, but Auto will more Convenient and affordable because its drop you upwards till Bappa Sitaram Mandir which is the starting point of Tungareshwar way and takes 150rs fare from Vasai east station.from the starting point, you will come to another Gate which is an Entrance a few steps ahead..there you have to pay charges to enter 48rs for a single individual and for college students they provide discounts. from the point, it takes around 45-60 mins of walking distance to reach up till Shiv'ji temple. After Entering you will come across many beautiful attractions to explore small ponds, small lakes, and small waterfalls it's a complete forest tracking, exploring beautiful and overwhelming Greenary of nature, you can find Many Monkeys hanging on trees on your way to temple. It's a complete photography place so you can capture each and every moment on your way. once you visit on the top You can find Many foods and sweets Stalls run by locals.there is a small garden to rest and kids to play near Entrance,Shiv'ji Temple is a center of attraction its a very famous and old temple people from all over Mumbai especially come here to Worship lord Shiva,to the right side of Temple, there is a place where you can find this heavy force waterfall from the top of Huge Rocks looks amazing its the best place to refresh with outstanding view near the waterfall. the place is a bit slippery filled with different sizes of rocks so walk carefully while going near Waterfalls. I went to Bassein Fort. Bassein Fort also known as Vasai Fort is an important sea fort located in Bassein, present day Vasai, at about 55-km from Mumbai. Built by Bahadur Shah, Sultan of Gujarat, it was initially one of a chain of forts intended to guard the coast against the Portuguese and the pirates. It is great place to go.
