SAS museum presents the history of Scandinavian Airlines System and the airline’s parent companies. The SAS Museum, officially opened in 2003. The majority of the staff is SAS pensioners. In the museum you can follow the history of SAS since its start in 1946. The consortium was the first of its kind in the world of aviation. The exhibits comprise models of all SAS-owned aircrafts. One section of the museum includes a complete collection of SAS uniforms. In the library you can find more than 700 volumes of aviation literature, complete magazines and much more. The museum has a comprehensive archive containing documents, manuals and printed material available for study and research purposes. The museum is closed during December - opens 10 of january 2012.
This small museum is actually very authentic. It is run by present and former SAS employees and the collection is impressive. There are artifacts from pre-SAS to the present day. While there ar no full scale aircraft on display, there are tons of travel agents models, a working simulator and lots of other historic artifacts to keep you busy for a few hours. Unfortunately it is not open every day. Absolutely worth a visit. Great little gift store, and a cafeteria too

WELCOME ABOARD We deliver fast, frequent and reliable transportation to and from Oslo Airport. As our guest, you should expect a little extra. Which is a matter of course – after all, we exist purely for your benefit. Aboard our trains, you should be able to sit back and relax and think about other things than catching your plane. We are proud to be welcoming you aboard.
I downloaded the App prior to setting off and bought my tickets on the app. Each journey is a single and it loads on the app. From there it is easy to put it into your iPhone wallet, the ticket is valid for 90 days. The app displays train times and platform number; at busy Oslo Central Station that made it quick and easy to find. The Airport station is well signposted, simply select your ticket and scan the barcode before entering the platform, it is worth knowing that on the return journey to the airport you scan the barcode when you arrive at the airport after leaving the train. I love the simplicity of the system, the airport is a long way out from the city centre and this is a great way of travelling at a reasonable cost. Trains are about every 10 minutes and travel time is about 30 minutes, the train is comfortable and quiet and you also get the opportunity to see the countryside outside the city.
