Since 1949 the company produce and sell Japanese tea. The fields and the factory are located near the town of Tsuwano, in the countryside near the mountains. They produce tea from over 70 years with modern machinery, but respecting the old traditions to obtain a very high quality tea. We produce and sell also a particular herb tea, characteristic of Tsuwano’s area, here called Mamecha. You can also book a workshop, to learn everything about Japanese tea and taste it, served with a typical sweet of Tsuwano.

The Tsuwano Castle ruins was one of the highlights of visiting Tsuwano and I highly recommend coming here. There are a few options of getting to the top, you can hike or take a chair lift. It looks as if they are building a road closer so parking near the ruins, might be another option in the future. I opted for the chair lift since I have yet to do that in Japan. You can take the lift back down or hike. Once at the top, you do have to hike a little to get to the actual ruins but it is a fairly easy hike. The ruins and locations are incredible. The views from each ledge is gorgeous. The ruins itself are massive, I wish I could see what it would have been like when built up. The Tsuwano Castle ruins are easily one of my favorites in Japan.

I visited the Taikodani Inari Shrine after going to the castle ruins. There is a nice trail from the ruins directly to the shrine. There is a large parking lot in front of the shrine. The complex is pretty large and the main temple is beautiful! I love the red and white colors and other traditional items. The shrine is just beautiful, don't miss the Tori Gates that go up/down the hill, there are 273 gates and it makes for fantastic photos. From the shrine you get magnificent views of the town and surrounding area, I can't wait to come back here in the fall time.

This is a unique chapel. Tatami mats instead of pews. Since there are not hoards of tourists, one can enter to meditate and pray in peace. There are a little shop with religious objects and no attendant. You grab what you want and pay by depositing money in the box.
