Fulton Farms is known for their corn. I'm from the area but moved away about 15 years ago. When I come back to visit family I like to visit Fulton Farms. Today I stopped in for sweet corn, tomatoes & peaches. The place hardly seams an attraction anymore. I walked in and was greeted by no-one. I picked through peaches that should have been ate days ago that were still full price, picked through corn that was mostly bad and found some nice tomatoes. When I checked out there were 2 young girls paying more attention to a cell phone and chatting among each other that didn't really seam to care about giving good customer service. Neither girl could look at me or hand me my receipt, just kept talking to each other and laid my receipt on the counter while my hand was out. I can't say I'm in a hurry to return. This trip to Fulton Farms really was a disappointment. Yes, the corn tasted good but the experience doesn't seam worth it.

My husband and I started the 2018 with a hike to the Charleston Falls Preserve. It was gorgeous and breath taking. Especially when we walked down the path near the falls. How can that much water freeze in mid air? It was magnificent.

What an absolute gem! The trails are fantastic, the newly revised nature center is clean, fresh, and full of educational wonders! And the staff is always ready to help and point you in the right direction. This is a fantastic center and one we visit time and time again.

There are two small hangers with beautifully restored vintage aircraft and a number of exhibits that cover the early days of aviation, during which the WACO company played an important role. There are a few interactive exhibits [not working the day we visited, however], as well as a factory exhibit to give perspective on how these aircraft were produced. It's really a little gem.

Downtown area offers several places to eat and shop, as well as a cultural center. Also, the current Lincoln statue exhibit is very cool. If in the area, this is definitely worth the stop to grab some lunch and explore.

It was in the newspaper -Dayton Daily News so my wife and I decided to visit. I drove across 3 times and walked across twice. 30 minutes or less is all you need. Quite tranquil and plenty of parking space.

This trail is on the NW side of Troy right off I75 (hence the noise - no way to get away from it). Beautiful trees. The trail winds along the river. Beautiful new bridge across the river. The trail could be under water when the Miami River is high - check before you go. This obviously occurred recently but the trail was nicely cleared off - no mud! (Lots of work - the parks department brought in bulldozers to clean it off!) Several parking lots to chose from (each with port o pots). Right now the western edge of the trail is closed but look for it to open soon. Beautiful waterfall in that direction. I will definitely be back to hike the closed section.

We were impressed by how well this 3-story former home had been restored after years of serving as a public library [and the impeccable upkeep]. Apparently it's a popular venue for receptions and showers, which I can understand. There was an interesting exhibit of Ohio coverlets when we were there in the upstairs gallery. We were also interested in the framed architectural drawings for the house. Naturally there's information about Troy's history and the family who lived there. Tucked away near the conservatory is an extremely well-done exhibit of the patent medicines and liquors that provide the basis for the family's wealth. Initially I didn't think I'd be interested in it but the curator did a superb job of providing interesting social/historical context for the rise and decline of the business.
This is a three-story building; although there's an elevator, I suspect access could be somewhat challenging for those with limited mobility.

Checked website. Said there would be special events. Said Bouncy House, food, festival. This was on there website for this weekend. This sounded just perfect for his birthday. Well, the Bouncy House is laying on the ground not inflated, the only food I seen was snack and candy in the giftshop . There are all kinds of animals. Have not seen the giraffe yet thou . Lots of shade. A play ground of some sort. But I don't think I'll be back.

I visited Raise Your Brush in Troy with friends over the Christmas holiday. Even though I had never painted before, on both occasions I left with a piece of finished art work that I was very proud of! Class instruction is done step by step, all supplies including canvas, paints, and paint apron are provided. To take away any inhibitions, you can purchase a glass of wine (or soft drink, in my case!). I was very pleased that as a beginner, I felt completely comfortable with the pace of the class and instruction, and am proud of my work! Great for beginners or even skilled artists. Reasonably priced, fun event! This venue provides opportunities for kids, friends, couples, and will set up private events and fundraisers.
